Packers Therapy #453: Super Season Wrap Up Extravaganza!!!

Packers Therapy #453: Super Season Wrap Up Extravaganza!!!

Chris and Dave put a (poorly tied) bow on the 2023 season. Besides looking back and looking ahead, the fellas talk about the Super Bowl, the hiring of Jeff Hafley, the Packers needs in the draft, play a little "Keep or Dump," and do a recap of the betting lines for the past season. A jolly time was had by all!

Posting its first show in 2005, Packers Therapy is the longest-running Packers podcast on the Internet. Hosts Chris and Dave began the show as a way of capturing the spirited chats the two co-workers had about the team around the office. The two have no pretense about being experts: they are just two opinionated shareholders who love the team, follow it closely, but don’t always see the Packers fortunes eye to eye.

Packers Therapy #452: Packers Dead and Barry-ed in San Francisco

Packers Therapy #452: Packers Dead and Barry-ed in San Francisco

"When all the laughter dies in sorrow…” While the end of the Packers season is not as fraught as the Lance Rentzel memoir, it certainly stung. But why? Green Bay was playing with the proverbial “house money,” was it not? The post-season was a surprise gift, right? So, shouldn't this one be easily set aside as just a learning experience on the way to certain improvement next season and a string of playoff appearances thereafter? Like many Packers fans, Chris and Dave struggle with accepting the loss in that manner, knowing that the Niners game — and another appearance in the NFC Championship Game — was there for the taking…and that the future is far from certain.

PROGRAMMING NOTE: Chris and Dave plan to do a “Season Wrap” pod in a few weeks. The boys are tentatively scheduled to record that one the week after the Super Bowl, so look for it sometime after February 15.

Packers Dominate, Reversing Cowboys with 'Niners Coming Next

Packers Dominate, Reversing Cowboys with 'Niners Coming Next

Packers fans unwrapped a late Christmas gift in the form of an overwhelming Green Bay victory over what appeared to be a stunned and stumbling Dallas team. Chris and Dave are beyond surprised, preferring instead to just lay back and enjoy it, particularly as a date with San Francisco is looming on Saturday night. While the ride may well be coming to a sobering impact with the wall of reality this weekend, the fellas are delighted with the way the Packers' season has rebounded after a 2-5 start and excited about what the future might hold in an increasingly competitive NFC North.

Packers Therapy #450: Dave's Wrong Again!

Packers Therapy #450: Dave's Wrong Again!

Playoffs? Hell, yeah! The Packers beat the Chicago Bears to advance to the post-season and finish with a winning 9-8 record. Green Bay fans are euphoric, but a match-up with the Cowboys in Dallas might change the mood. Still, Chris and Dave note that the Packers are playing with House Money (something that never happens at the Packers Therapy Hotel and Casino), so they really can't lose. Even so, the fellas are giving the Packers a puncher's chance this weekend at AT&T Stadium.

Packers Therapy #449: Packers blow Vikings' Horn in Lopsided Win

Packers Therapy #449: Packers blow Vikings' Horn in Lopsided Win

Ah, the sweet scent of Love! Like most Packers fans, Chris and Dave are totally into Love...and as long as Jordan can find and hit the open man, the fellas will remain so. In a nod to the recently deposed President of Harvard, our boys built this episode from material liberally borrowed from another source, but unlike Dr. Gay, the guys give clear and unambiguous attribution to their source.

Packers Therapy #448: Joe Barry Named NFC Offensive Player of the Year

In a Boxing Day Extravaganza, Chris and Dave air their grievances about another flaccid defensive performance. On the bright side, Joe Barry secured Bryce Young's vote for NFC Offensive Player of the Year, joining the immortal Tommy Devito and Baker Mayfield to put Joe over the top.

Packers Therapy 447 -- Packers Butchered by Baker, the Perfect Passing Maker

Packers Therapy 447 -- Packers Butchered by Baker, the Perfect Passing Maker

Chris and Dave, employing a time-honored defense mechanism, stretch out and yuck it up about the decidedly unfunny antics of the Packers defense and the Dead Man Walking that is Joe Barry. But it's not all darkness and doom, as the fellas note that Jordan Love is pretty darn good and is throwing to some swell receivers. Did someone say, "Betting Lines?" Heck, yeah. It's all there in Chuba Hubbard Cupboard!

Packers Therapy #446: Packers Not So Neato, Get Beat by DeVito

Packers Therapy #446: Packers Not So Neato, Get Beat by DeVito

The emerging consensus seems to be that the decaying corpse of Jimmy Hoffa, mouldering under the Meadowlands, could have played better defense on that final drive than Joe Barry's outfit did. But wait, there's more...and Chris and Dave talk about it in their usual excruciating detail.

Packers Therapy #445: Packers Show KC Who's Chief

Dave recounts his incredible experience of being at the game and the energy of both Packers and Chiefs fans alike as the rumor quickly spreads through the crowd that Taylor Swift is, in fact, in attendance. It's a Love story as hearts start to fill with hope on the Packers playoff prospects. It's hard to not be optimistic right now, but have no fear, Chris and Dave find a way to bring it all back down to earth.

Packers Therapy #443: Lefleur "Runs to Win," Eludes Security as Packers Cage Lions

The Packers win in an unexpected victory against the Lions on Thanksgiving, surprising and confusing both Chris and Dave, robbing them of their usual hot takes. Are things starting to come together for the Green and Gold? Chris and Dave discuss whether expectations should be tempered moving into the end of the season.

Packers Therapy 442: We Love LA!

Green Bay has now won two of its last three games, both against teams that share SoFi Stadium in SoCal. Chris and Dave think all that separates the Packers from the Super Bowl is more games against teams from Los Angeles. Here's hoping USC and UCLA are on the Packers schedule later this season...

Packers Therapy #439: Rams Caught in Thicket; Sacrifice Game to Packers

Chris and Dave talk about a biblical Packers victory over the mediocre Rams. Chris argues a win is a win, while Dave has his usual pessimistic takes, including Watson's unimpressive season. 3-5 is better than 2-6, and with a challenging schedule ahead, maybe some momentum can be built off what appeared to be a lackluster win on the surface.
