On today's episode we talk with Capt. Lionel James of Lions Tale Adventures out of Destin, FL. The Spanish are thick & the Redfish are starting to move in too. The sheepshead bite is still going strong but the Cobia haven't shown up in the numbers we should see in a few weeks. All in all it sounds like a great time to get out on the water in Destin and the good news is that it will only get better! On today's episode we talk with Capt. Lionel James of Lions Tale Adventures out of Destin, FL. We talk about catching redfish off docks & Capt. Lionel shares a tip he uses to identify and document the patterns that make some docks more productive at certain times of the year. Also, we get an update on all of the things that Lionel has going on, from a ladies fly casting clinic in Destin to beach fishing on electric bikes.

In this weeks episode we talk to Capt. Brant Peacher with Angler Up With Brant out of Pensacola, FL. Brant tells us about all of the fish species to be targeted and caught off the beaches, inshore and offshore around Pensacola. Spring is officially here and with it come more stable water temps that all of the migratory fish look for to continue their trek up the FL coast. It is a great time to get on the water!

In this last episode of our Meet the Captain series we talk to Captain Lionel James out of Destin, FL. He tells us about growing up in Alaska, competitive MMA fighting and what led him back to Destin to start Lions Tale Adventures guide service. He also gives us a sneak peek at what he has planned for 2021 and some of the big things he is working on outside of fishing!

On this special edition of the Ripple Fishing Report we catch up with Destin's very own Capt. Lionel James and talk about a recent trip he took to Andros Island in The Bahamas! It really sounds like a special fishery and the kind of place that belongs on many of bucket lists. We cover a lot of info on this episode, we talk about current water conditions and talk about how the guides are putting their clients on fish. We also have great conversation about the year from an angling perspective and talk about some of the special, weird or just plain cool things that happened to them on the water. We also look ahead and see what the guys are planning to do through the winter. It really is a great episode and I couldn't think of a better way to wrap up our 1st full season. It sounds like the Fall pattern is in full swing and that means there are plenty of fish to be caught and even more species to target since everything seems to be in the middle of the seasonal transition. This seems to be the case for the whole FL panhandle, so nows the time to get down there and get on the water! 

On this weeks episode we talk to Capt. Justin Leake out of Panama City and get his advice on sight fishing for red fish as well as amber jacks. He tells how he gets them to the surface for awesome action on a fly rod. We also hear from Brant Peacher of Pensacola and get an update on the water conditions and talk about catching (and hunting) exotic species in South FL. Last but not least, we check in with Lionel James out of Destin, FL about finding the redfish there this time of year and we also have a great discussion on photography and videography and how he likes to incorporate that into his trips.

First we talk to Capt. Justin Leake out of Panama City, FL and hear about the nearshore fishing success he has had recently. He tells us how he sets up a flatline while he is fishing offshore structure. He also gives us an update on the inshore fishery and how they are catching fish with all of the freshwater that is still in the bay system. Next we head over to Pensacola and talk to Capt. Brant Peacher about a recent trip he took to Southwest FL to further explore the diverse fishery there. He also gives us a quick update on the beach fishing in Pensacola. Lastly, we check in with Capt. Lionel James in Destin, FL and find out he catches redfish this time of year. We also get his take on conservation efforts for those big breeder redfish that are so prevalent this time of year and so important to the long term sustainability of the fishery. Lionel also tells us where to look for bull redfish in Destin as we get closer to fall.
