Putting Your Health First | REDUCING YOUR A1C And Pre-diabetes Risk WITHOUT MEDICATION With Cyclist Tracy Tolson

Putting Your Health First | REDUCING YOUR A1C And Pre-diabetes Risk WITHOUT MEDICATION With Cyclist Tracy Tolson

Have you tested with high A1C levels? Are you in pre-diabetes? Has the doctor told you that you need to make some changes? Are you supposed to cut carbs to get to  A1C normal range, but don't know how many carbs per day you should be getting?

If you don't know where to start, what you need to be changing, or even what a normal A1C level is, today's episode is for you. My friend, nurse, and cyclist Tracy Tolson is here to sing to the choir.

Tracy is a very fit 62 year old with no family history of high A1C levels, yet a year ago got the news from her PCP - Primary Care Physician that she needed to meet with an endocrinologist and nutritionist to get her A1C levels down before she was in full-blown diabetes.

It was a wake up call and she made the necessary changes to get level down herself WITHOUT the use of medication. And she is here on the pod to tell us all how she did it and to encourage you to do the same if you are in the same boat.

Controlling Type 1 Diabetes with Carnivore and Fasting with Mike Fitzpatrick! 421

Controlling Type 1 Diabetes with Carnivore and Fasting with Mike Fitzpatrick! 421

Mike Fitzpatrick is a Type 1 diabetic (T1D) who is interested in nutrition, nutrition and health policy, and diabetes management. Mike has lost over 150 lbs. following a low carb, ketogenic diet, and more recently with a carnivore diet with intermittent fasting. He has been incorporating fasting since November 2020 and has dramatically improved his health. In addition to shedding over 150 lbs., Mike has maintained an A1c in the low 5.0%, which is considered to be very low. He is constantly tweaking his fasting, diet, and exercise regimes. Mike has a powerful message about the dangers of playing the up-and-down roller coaster game with high carbohydrate foods and big doses of rapid-acting insulin, while achieving what he was told was an acceptable A1c of around 6.0%, which many experts agree is too high. Low carbohydrate diets have been scientifically proven to reduce the need for insulin for type 1 diabetics. Less insulin injected has been shown to result in more predictable blood sugar, less hypoglycemia, and maintenance of a healthy weight, among many other health benefits.
