With the need to decrease emissions to help combat climate change growing more apparent by the day, freight railroads are stepping up to the plate. We discuss freight railroads and climate change on this episode with Association of American Railroads (AAR) Assistant VP for Government Affairs Jordan Stone and Assistant VP: Environment, Hazardous Materials and Climate Change Devin Sprinkle.

Jordan and Devin go over how freight rail is already the most fuel-efficient shipping mode over land and how railroads are working to make it even better with the potential for electric or hydrogen powered locomotives, improvements at railyards, cleaner fuel and many other initiatives - along with how partnerships help speed progress.

AAR – A tool used to debrief a project or event to understand what took place, why it happened the way it did, and how to improve on it.

Happy New Year! As we embark on 2023, it’s important to take a look at the year that was and make an honest assessment. It’s vital to conduct an AAR (after-action review) to see what went well and what didn’t. Identify things that you set out to accomplish and succeeded in, as well as failures. A successful AAR is contingent on being honest and being in integrity with yourself as you evaluate, assess, and set out to improve.

In this episode of Untaming Masculinity, Dan and Brad conduct an AAR of 2022 and discuss the year that was. They talk candidly about their wins, their losses, and the takeaways they will need to apply in 2023 and beyond. • Not All VCs are The Same: There are a number of factors that differentiate one VC from another. The criteria most people look at to find those differences are: size, geographical focus, the stage of the companies they invest in, and the various areas of interest or industries they invest in.

Access means you know and understand the company and the entrepreneurs and have a chance to do the due diligence necessary to figure out the nuts and bolts of the company inside and out. Judgment means having a long-term vision and being able to see a future for the company.
