Connection Seminar: Philosophy, Truth and Logic for Christian Leaders - Audio

Connection Seminar: Philosophy, Truth and Logic for Christian Leaders - Audio
Guest Seminar speaker Carey Waldie presents a three part one evening discussion on Philosophy, Truth and Logic in today's world of mixed messages. Pastor Carey leads us in understanding many truths about the fallacies and the strategy of the "worldly system" to sway the Christian into believing the many lies of the enemy. He gives us good insights into how we watch for and position ourselves to be able to give good biblical answers to the many questions that try to destroy the truth of God's word. To help you navigate this session, he breaks his presentation into 3 main areas. He begins with the area of logic and philosophy and then at the 56:30 mark he begins the second section on truth. The third section begins around the 1:40:17 marker where he speaks on media and the arts. You are encouraged to listen in and learn from Pastor Carey...

"Slip Sliding Away" Living Sacrifices Series #14

"Slip Sliding Away" Living Sacrifices Series #14
As the Apostle Paul continues to paint a picture of how the followers of Christ are supposed to live from Romans 12, he moves from our relationship with a specific group of people in verses 14-16, to a more general audience in verse 17. While at first glance it may seem to be just a simple instruction to "always do what is right" but when you examine the context and his word choices from the Greek language; it unlocks the keys to a lifestyle that has the potential to transform our culture. In a culture that has embraced Moral Relativism where what is "acceptable behavior" or how we define "right or wrong" changes and shifts according to popular opinion, our circumstances or the situations we face; Paul challenges Christ followers to a different standard. From Romans 12:17

"Living Transformed in a World of Conformity" Living Sacrifice series #3

"Living Transformed in a World of Conformity" Living Sacrifice series #3
We live in a rapidly changing culture and it is having a profound effect on Christians and the Church. Behavior and lifestyles that only a few years ago seemed abnormal or out of the mainstream are now not only accepted but even celebrated. The lines between how society defines good and evil and right and wrong are being blurred and it is happening at such a pace that many in the church don't know how to respond. As personal experience, circumstances and opinions are elevated over any form of absolute truth the world does not need our conformity or for us to blur the lines about what we believe and stand on as found in God's word; the darkness needs a light! So how do we respond? How do we show grace, mercy, and love to those around us as we reach out to minister and share the Gospel without compromising what we hold dear? The Apostle Paul lays out some simple principles in Romans 12:1-2 that might hold some answers. Join us as we continue our study from these foundational verses and examine our individual and corporate worldviews and how they effect our thoughts, beliefs, principles and the way we live them out.

"More than Some Good Advice" Following Jesus Sermon Series #35

"More than Some Good Advice" Following Jesus Sermon Series #35
As we wrap up our study on the Sermon on the Mount, we ask the question, "Why does it matter?". Why is the sermon so important? Why do many consider it to be one of Jesus's greatest teachings? To help find some answers, we look at how the original listeners responded? What did they think, and what difference did it make to them? While many today try to separate Jesus from the life lessons found in these passages, to those sitting around Jesus, listening intently as he taught- Jesus was the message. It was His authority found all through these 3 chapters of Matthew that made the difference and it is His authority that makes the difference today. Listen in to discover how these verses can move from truth to transformation in every area of your life. From Matthew 7:28-29.

The Search for Truth and Authority; 200 Proof Series; Biblical Answers to Cultural Questions #2
How can a Christian explain what they believe and why they believe it if they are not comfortable with the Bible. A recent survey found that 88% of American have a Bible in their home with the average home having 4.7 Bibles, yet only 52% of Christians say they read the Bible at least once a week. Only 62% of Christians say that the Bible is their source of authority and truth - so what do they other 40% use as a measurement for what is truth? It seems we don't have a cultural problem as much as we have a Bible problem in the church. Join us to discover the importance of God's word on how we are to engage our culture. From 1 Timothy 3:14-4:4; Galatians 1:6-10.

    Phiosopy & Ethcs

    Phiosopy & Ethcs
"Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?" ~Dr. Del Tacket~ Part 2 of our series following the Truth Project Pastor Mike talks to us about the antithesis of world truth vs. Biblical Truth in the ways of Philosophy and Ethics of our culture. If we really believe what we believe is really real then we would live, act, think and behave differently. In this message we also study the differences of the secular & Biblical world truths. Only 63% of Christians today believe that Jesus lived a sinless life which means that 37% believe that Jesus sinned. That tells us that those 37% of Christians don't even believe what they believe. Also, only 58% even believe that Satan exists and only 3% will ever lead someone to Jesus. We need to up our understanding of what we believe and let Jesus transform our thinking so that we have a biblical value system. Additional Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 3:18 and Romans 12:1&2
