I had an experience recently that I wanted to share because it happens so frequently in business, when the wheels start falling off. That is the work-life tango, as we strive for the "work-life balance" that I believe doesn't exist. It's a tango of sorts!

Carla Tierney is a brave and resilient Studio Owner from a small country town about two and a half hours north of West Brisbane, Australia. A town known for mining, meat works, and farming, that has a high level of the community on social benefits.

In this episode of 'Business, Arts and All That Jazz', we talk about what life is truly like for regional and country studios.

Carla has had the trifecta when it comes to challenges, including a decrease in mining which majorly effected the local work opportunities and clients. Her area also experienced a drought, which meant that cattle farmers and crop farmers were unable to produce, again, leaving the community financially vulnerable. Then, came the a pandemic, which is a story we all know too well.

Despite all of the challenges of regional studio ownership, she also shares the the beauty of country life and how the community comes together. She loves her town, community and business and it was a privilege to catch a glimmer into Carla's life and bright, fighting spirit.
