We talk more about Col. Phillips’ letter to Senator Brandt. So Steve is, in fact, a captain now? And why does he talk about the 3rd of November in such a strange way? Peggy enters – through the small door instead of the open side of the tent – just in time to hear Phillips’ assertion that Rogers was killed in action. We talk about the two actors, this conversation, struggles we have with it, as well as some positives as well, including Johnston’s smarts in staging a conversation like this cinematically.

We also talk about the Tesseract cannon that Schmidt uses on them and what it’s actually doing to them. Plus, we discuss what it leaves behind. From there, we move into a conversation about the Hydra salute and the Hydra comic origins. We debate if the outfits should’ve remained green and goofy like they are in the comics and draw a connection between their salute and Muppets Most Wanted. There’s some discussion about Dr. Zola’s reaction and where he stands with this whole Hydra thing. And we end the conversation returning to the SSR Base where Steve’s sullenly giving blood.

However, it’s not through some Dr. Strange multiverse shenanigans, or Loki’s mischief, that has afforded us this opportunity, but from even greater powers: Casting Directors. The four of us are jumping into the pod, to break down the actors that were considered for the biggest MCU roles, but through a twist of fate or just flat out disinterest, didn't make it to the screen. Although we aren’t convinced that turning Robert Downey Jr. into Nicolas Cage wouldn’t be the best Loki scheme ever.
