6 More Wins Topper w/ Matt Breen of The Inquirer
Tek & Prem welcome Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer to talk Red October as the Phils gear up for Game 3 in the desert TODAY. Up 2-0 and on a record-setting pace, the Phils are on a misson to win it all. The power numbers rival and eclipse the 1927 Yankees. The bullpen has been near perfect and the starters just as good, or better. The power is coming in bunches and these guys are having a blast playing ball. The Eagles look to bounce back against a very tough Dolphins opponent. The loss in NY was solely on the coaching staff. The recipe for winning against Miami is possessing the ball for much of the game. The defense will be tested more than they have this season to this point. Can they rise up and defend their house? The Birds fly to the City of Angels to face the Rams. Matthew Stafford presents the tallest test yet for the Eagles defense, which has been a mixed bag thus far. The D-Line will have to win the day. Phinally Football Friday

    Phinally Football Friday
Tek & Prem dive into Week 1 of the NFL as the Eagles head to Foxboro to take on Belichick and the Patriots. The Pats will retire Brady's jersey Sunday. The Eagles send a revamped defense & bolstered offense out for the 2023 campaign; one that sees them trying to accomplish the difficult feat of returning to the Super Bowl a year after losing it. Only a handful of teams stand in their way. Health is always a concern. The running backs room is loaded, the wideouts are among the best in the business, and the lines are deep, healthy, and nasty. The Phils approach the postseason with the top Wild Card slot held down. The next 20+ days will determine if that series will be hosted at the Bank or possibly Chicago, who has turned it on as of late and trail the Phils by just 2 games. The 'pen has to improve down the stretch for them to have a legitimate chance to win another NL Pennant. Tek & Prem welcome Jason Martinez of Fox 29 to go 4 for 4. The Sixers resign James Harden and the fanbase anxiously awaits a potential trade partner. Will they do enough to finally eclipse the 2nd Round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs? We are skeptical. The Phillies are heating up as summer digs in. They sit in almost the exact position as 1 year ago, as they marched towards the World Series. Starting pitching has led the way. The Eagles are around the corner with much expectation and excitement for the defending NFC Champs to get BACK TO WORK. The infusion of youth is another masterful chapter in the Howie Roseman manifesto for general management success in the NFL. A young star is en route to the Flyers in a few years. Youthful Exuberance and School Nights

    Youthful Exuberance and School Nights

We make our World Series calls official. Pottymouth asserts Astros in five, with all the feels for the old guys (Dusty and Justin), and the promise of the youngsters (Mauricio Dubón and Jeremy Peña). Patti leans into the joyful and the scrappy of what FoxSports calls the “Greatest College Baseball Team of All Time,” Phillies in 6. Fun fact about our skill in boyfriend selection, all runs in Game 1 were driven in by NCiB BFs. Hey, don't go looking for conspiracy theories regarding Martín Maldonado using illegal bats gifted by Albert Pujols. Safety is job one. Tony Clark, head of the player’s union, uses the moment to note this is the first World Series since 1950 without a single US-born Black player on either team. MLB youth programs to grow the game are encouraging, with 9 US-born Black players drafted in the first round, including 4 of first 5 draftees, most since 1992, but the lack of current players for kids to relate to make it an uphill battle. The dearth of Black managers and front office leadership is firmly under the control of MLB management where they can absolutely choose  who to hire.

Boyfriends with bats are all over the Silver Slugger nominees, and the Fielding Bible “Defense is Sexy” Awards highlight future Guardian picks. Pottymouth gives you the heads up on World Baseball Classic tickets in Miami and in Florida. The Serie del Caribe schedule is out so clear some February time to watch the Winter Ball championship. We’ve got an allegiance swap in the LVBP, and not just so we can say Anzoátegui and Sugar Jesus. MLB cancels the Korea Series, driving the KBO to admit to being perplexed. And now we can’t stop saying “perplexed,” in addition to “vision of a glorious basement,” and “You O’d out loud!”

    Bedlam At The Bank
The World Series Preview show. The Phillies did the impossible, knocking off 3 teams en route to the NL Pennant. Game 1 is on Friday night in Houston versus the juggernaut Astros. Baseball magic is real and Bryce Harper is having possibly the best postseason in Phillies history. Rhys Hoskins on fire. Clutch hitting from JT. Jean Segura with a spark for the entire run. Can the pitching hold up and get a split in Houston? Nola going in Game 1 sets the rotation up nicely. Which Phils will deliver on the biggest stage? Week 1 versus Detroit is around the corner. Expectations have risen. Phillies in the midst of a slump in Arizona, holding a playoff spot as of now. The pitching has fallen apart in Arizona, a house of horrors for them. 32 games remaining and an 18-14 mark needed to win 90. Segments include: VetPhact & VetLineCourtesy of the Vet Alumni Members Association (VAMA)

    5 IN A ROW

    5 IN A ROW

Howie Roseman constructs an impressive roster. Giants maybe 6 wins max. Phillies continue to stay hot as we welcome Phillies Nation Contributor Jonny Heller on the VetLine to talk hardball. Will the Phils do enough to be buyers at the deadline? Segments include: Around The Bases, Dealing With Idiots, VetLine, VetPhact, and Prem's MLB Picks.Courtesy of the Vet Alumni Members Association (VAMA)

    Sixers Eliminated, Eagles Anticipated

    Sixers Eliminated, Eagles Anticipated
Tek & Prem welcome Sports Illustrated Eagles Writer Conor Myles on the VetLine to talk Birds. The excitement is real for the 2022 Eagles to get underway. The schedule is evaluated for the entire NFC East. It's a two-horse race. The Sixeers bow out in the 2nd Round yet again. Major changes needed, but will they be made? Doc Rivers may be back as Head Coach. The Phillies return from a stellar west coast road trip to get shutout at home vs the Padres and Manny Machado. The hitting is top-5 in MLB in most categories but the relief pitching is again the achilles heel for this baseball team. Rum is the Death of Us

Rum is the Death of Us

Alyssa Nakken makes history again while just doing her job adjacent to an “unfortunate racist incident” as we remind you that there’s a reason unwritten rules aren’t written. Alec Bohm makes 1) Patti’s Phillies prediction come true early and 2) Pottymouth feel right at home. Ke’Bryan Hayes rakes in the beer money while Heliot Ramos settles for a cup of coffee. Joe Maddon sends Corey Seager on a surprising walk.

Patti takes Albert Pujols’ announcement of his decision to divorce his wife days after her brain tumor surgery very personally and Pottymouth sends his shirt to the thrift store in solidarity. MLB’s Trailblazer series in Vero, Florida hosts 11-13 year old girls from 25 states plus these places that are not states: Puerto Rico, Washington, DC, and Canada. Roki Sasaki has faced 52 batters without giving up a hit, leading us to ponder which is more important – the potential perfect game, or preserving the streak?

Mark “We’ll never sell the Nationals” Lerner announces that the ownership group is exploring selling the Nationals. Patti is concerned about agreeing with Buck Showalter. NCiB encourages you to Adopt a Minor Leaguer, since all the cool kids are doing it. We say “fragile masculinity issues,” “when does it stop being weird?” and “I vote for hoodwinking.”
