With Matt Serra out and about in Toronto during UFC 297 fight week, John Morgan tags along as a guest co-host for an episode of UFC Unfiltered that sees women’s bantamweight Mayra Bueno Silva and featherweight Arnold Allen call in ahead of their fights on Saturday.

Jim and John kick off the show by previewing this Saturday’s highly-anticipated middleweight title fight main event between champion Sean Strickland and challenger Dricus Du Plessis.

Then, Mayra Bueno Silva hops on the show ahead of her fight against 2nd-ranked women’s bantamweight Raquel Pennington to iterate why she feels prepared to seize the vacant title on the line in Saturday’s co-main event.

When Mayra leaves, the guys discuss some other storylines on Saturday’s card before ultimately bringing on Arnold Allen as the final guest caller of the show.

2.         I feel like the biggest story coming out of the weekend has to be the Khamzat situation. Seems like the consensus is that he gassed out after round 1 again and needs another true test at 185 before stepping up to the champ.

3.         One question about the doctor, did they accidentally bring in somebody with a PhD in art history instead of a medical doctor? I’m no surgeon but I’m pretty sure “nobody kicked you in the balls” isn’t on the MCAT® exam.

4.         Which fighter on the current roster do you think would have a chance to pull Taylor Swift and get millions of Swifties to tune into the UFC?

5.         The guys react to the powerful message from Alexander Volkanovski in his UFC 294 post-fight press conference on why he took his short notice fight against Islam Makhachev.

In this podcast, podcast host Cristopher Zamora talks about Khamzat Chimaev. Chimaev recently fought against Kamaru Usman and he beat him by Majority Decision at UFC 294. The fight was good for Khamzat Chimaev because with every new fight that comes in his way, he keeps improving in his fighting skills. Chimaev hasn't suffered any loss against any opponent at the time of recording this podcast. His record now is 13-0. Cris also speaks briefly about Islam Makhachev's fight against Alexander Volkanovski. UFC 294 was very impressive for Cris.

With this Saturday’s UFC 294 pay-per-view just a matter of days away, Jim Norton and Matt Serra use today’s episode to preview and predict winners for the massive fights atop the card — with 8th-ranked lightweight Arman Tsarukyan providing some additional perspective on as a guest caller.

Jim and Matt waste no time by diving straight into the main card, unpacking the elements that make both of Saturday’s short-notice fights intriguing. When discussing Alexander Volkanovski’s readiness for a 5-round title fight, the guys assess whether or not the UFC’s 145-pound king has to find a way to finish Islam Makhachev in order to dethrone the lightweight champion.

Joining Jim Norton and Matt Serra on today’s episode of UFC Unfiltered is bantamweight Adrian Yanez and comedian Robert Kelly.

Looking to bounce back from his first loss inside the UFC, 14th-ranked bantamweight Adrian Yanez gives a sober assessment of what went wrong as he abandoned his game plan in the midst of his one-round firefight against Rob Font. Yanez further explains how the great deal of mutual respect between himself and 13th-ranked bantamweight Jonathan Martinez will have to be put aside briefly as the two prepare to clash on Saturday night in a significant fight for the UFC’s 135-pound division.

Shortly thereafter, Jim and Matt are joined by a long-time friend of the show in stand-up comedian Robert Kelly, who himself is no fighter but shows an incredible ability to take Matt Serra’s friendly jabs in stride while throwing some back himself in a hilarious appearance on the show.

The guys wrap up the show by taking a look at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Yusuff vs. Barboza card.

3. What do you do with Bo Nickal at this point? He’s made easy work of everyone put in front of him so far but is still new to the sport. Do you continue a gradual ascent or toss him in the deep end with someone like Kelvin Gastelum or Jack Hermansson?

4. How difficult is it to fight with a broken or fractured bone and have you done that yourselves? Couldn’t believe Dan Hooker won that third round so handedly with the wrist break.

5. Do you think it’s more beneficial for a fighter to earn their way into the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series or The Ultimate Fighter?

To wrap up the show, the guys give a shoutout to Robbie Lawler as he won his retirement fight against Niko Price by KO in 38 seconds.

Fresh off the heels of an incredible International Fight Week, Matt Serra is joined by guest co-host Din Thomas for a recap of all things UFC 290 with newly crowned flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja and potential flyweight title challenger Brandon Royval.

Joining the show first is Brandon Royval, who recounts what it was like serving as the backup fighter for Saturday’s flyweight title fight between Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja.

Riding a three-fight winning streak, the UFC’s fourth-ranked flyweight talks about how he feels reenergized after his shoulder surgery and is ready to avenge his losses to Moreno and Pantoja.

Then, Alexandre Pantoja hops on the show to express his gratitude for his family, teammates and coaches who’ve supported him on the journey that led him to the top of the flyweight division after his third victory over Brandon Moreno.
