amazing grace talk

Beto Pena has been a dear friend for over 40 years.  Yes, it's true.   We met at Red Bird Skateland in Duncanville, TX.   He along with his sister, Dantia, my best friend Julie and Keith were the talk of the town, especially because of the skating competition that was held each summer at various skating rinks!  I always said if they would have put their efforts into ice skating they could have been professionals or even in the Olympics.  Seriously!
 
From back in the day, to now, Beto has grown into an amazing human being, becoming a Pastor, Counselor, Author and even served in the United States military as a Navy helicopter rescue swimmer.  The best part about him is that his character has never changed since I first met him.  His fun loving personality, sincere kindness for everyone he meets and his warm and handsome looks just make him easy to love....and truly everyone does.   

I am so grateful that Beto shared his story with me to in turn share with all of you, the listeners of Amazing Grace Talk in hopes to bring clarity, value and peace to anyone who may be troubled about their identity or sexual identity.

"He is really stepping out in faith, walking in obedience to fill God's  nudge that  he has been feeling for many years." With the way society views sexuality, he felt it was his duty to share his story.  We pray that everyone who hears this message will listen with an open heart and allow God to speak to you through revelation, love and hope!

Think of a time in your life, a situation or string of events, where you had no idea how you would make it through or what the next step would be. You may be going through a trial at this time, as life is never a smooth journey. However, as you look back on that the original event, realize that you made it through, more than likely there are lessons or ideas that emerged that could help avoid similar situations.

Host Erika Seamayer-Williamson invites Pastor Becky Hennesy into the studio to discuss the topic of marriage. Why do so many marriages struggle to get off the launch pad? Why do so many marriages (even within the Church) end in divorce?

Although she's been married for nearly 42 years now, Becky and her husband Jim have had more than their share of trials...and pain so bad that Becky admits she actually hated Jim during the first few years of their marriage. Yet, they had to keep a front to the rest of the world because they served in pastoral ministry. The double life nearly destroyed their marriage yet the power of the Holy Spirit, divine intervention, and personal soul-searching led them to rebuild their marriage on a solid and loving foundation. 

Today Jim and Becky are co-lead pastors at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas. Their marriage is now strong, healthy and happy...and both agreed years ago to let their marital struggles be an open book and serve as a cautionary tale for others.

Ever met someone whose life story has so many twists and turns that it seems almost too incredible to believe? Barbara Walker would qualify to be in that exclusive club.

Host Erika Seamayer-Williamson sits down with Barbara to talk all things about overcoming enormous challenges. They met several years ago at their church while serving/volunteering. It's clear Barbara, who spent years in law enforcement in the Illinois prison system, is a fighter and refuses to let obstacles arrest her faith.
 
One of Barbara's biggest challenges of learning how to lean on God's amazing grace has been in the area of parenting. After raising her own  five children, Barbara took custody of her six grandchildren after her 32-year-old daughter died of AIDS (contracted from her husband who was a download brother, as Barbara called it). During the entire ordeal, local football legend Deion Sanders heard about Barbara's story and provided incredible support for her family. This episode unpacks that divine appointment blessing for Barbara's life.

Barbara currently serves as head of security at Trinity Church (Cedar Hill, Texas). She also is studying at a local seminary to prepare herself for full-time ministry.

Host Erika  Seamayer-Williamson turns the mic around on her own podcast producer Rob Price as they discuss the details of God's amazing grace found in the blood covenant of Jesus Christ.

Rob shared how he accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age...and was filled with the Holy Spirit as a teenager, yet it wasn't until his early 20s when his life took a radical shift. That transformation unfolded as he discovered the reality and the revelation of the blood covenant established by Jesus on the Cross.

Host Erika  Seamayer-Williamson catches up with Rachel Richie, a college student from Midlothian who survived a near fatal auto accident on January 1, 2020.

Rachel suffered 14 broken bones and a traumatic brain injury.  She also broke multiple bones in her face and she says, "luckily, a year later, you cannot even tell!"

Through months of painful rehabilitation Rachel has made a 100% recovery. She shares several humorous moments from being in the hospital. and how this tragedy has put her squarely on the path that God has for her life.

She explains the amazing support she received from family, friends and the entire Midlothian community...plus how her medical bills were strangely covered by unexpected sources.

Today, Rachel is thriving at UT-Tyler where she is studying neuro-psychology, is heavily involved in a campus ministry, and shares her testimony of God's amazing grace to anyone who will listen.

Alopecia. Sounds like a beach resort town or a fancy Italian dish. But as host Erika Seamayer-Williamson learns in this episode, alopecia is neither. Rather, it's a medical condition that occurs when the immune system attacks hair follicles, and may be brought on by severe stress.

Imagine you're 15, captain of your high school drill team, with a beautiful head full of blonde wavy hair...and one day you discover you have alopecia. You're entire teenage world would be turned upside down.

That's what happened to Ginny Baker, the featured guest on this episode of Amazing Grace Talk. Her discussion with Erika traces Ginny's life's journey through many doctor visits, medical treatments, self-image issues, public perceptions, wigs, hats, and how she handled hair returning then falling off again....numerous times throughout the last 15-20 years.

With her loving mom by her side they did in fact find a treatment that worked and also found a makeup artist who was able to tattoo her eyebrows and eyeliner for her so that she could feel "normal" again and make getting ready in the morning easier and less stressful.

Ginny has embraced this condition with grace and even humor. One of Ginny's favorite Bible verses is Luke 12:7 "Even the hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows."

This episode will inspire listeners to never judge yourself or judge others by outward appearances....and to see the good that is often wrapped up in times of unexplainable trials.

Jen is a Supervising Certified CARE Instructor and Certified Raindrop Technique Specialist through the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education (CARE).  She has a biology/chemistry educational background and have known she was called to healing since she was 12. With aspirations to be a doctor, she pursued a pre-med degree at Texas A&M. The Lord shut the door on that endeavor when she met her husband (now of 23 years), and have enjoyed many years of being a mom and homeschooler to 4 daughters, now ages 20, 18, 16, & 14.
She was introduced to essential oils about 7 years ago, and has spent countless hours learning about natural healing through oils and a toxic-free lifestyle. Jen has developed a passion for helping others find improved wellness through these natural gifts. This is not the path Jen pictured back when she was 12, but has learned so much about healing through a whole-person approach that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Tracy Doyle's addiction to alcohol almost destroyed her life. But she overcame its crippling power by the grace of God....and her gut-wrenching story is topic of this episode as host Erika Seamayer-Williamson sits down with Tracy to retrace her steps to freedom in Christ.

Erika has known Tracy since 2000 where they met working at a production company in Dallas.  Tracy was a producer and Erika was a makeup artist.  Erika says "Tracy always had a smile on her face and that positive glass half-full attitude." What Erika didn't know was that Tracy was hiding an awful addiction to alcohol. It was a disease that lurked behind the scenes and Tracy explains in this episode how she thought "it was normal to go to work with a hangover. "

But it all came crashing down one New Year's Eve. As everyone around her was making their plans for the big night, Tracy had a miraculous encounter with God that saved her life!

Erika leads Tracy in unpacking her heart-breaking story of reaching rock bottom. Her transformation began the moment she heard an audible voice from heaven. Listeners will learn what happened next and how the support she received from Alcoholics Anonymous and other family/friends eventually brought her to physical sobriety and spiritual health.
