Steven Curtis Chapman gets nostalgic about Christmas music with Brian and Aubrey

Steven Curtis Chapman gets nostalgic about Christmas music with Brian and Aubrey

We're diving in--going deep--into conversation with Steven Curtis Chapman. And Christmas is all in Chicago for him on Saturday December 9, when he'll be playing a concert at the Rialto Theater in Joliet as part of his Acoustic Christmas Tour.

In our interview, Steven gets very tender about his vision for the tour; while Christmas is a time that we remember those who aren't at the table, a concert can provide a moment to sit and soak in the message of the season.

He reveals his favorite Christmas songs, both to sing in concert and to drop onto the record player while decorating the Chapman tree (which, unlike the Sampson tree, is not up yet). Brian and Aubrey get nostalgic with him and share what his music meant for their little Cinderellas and for their faith journeys, and Steven teases a future as... a wedding singer? Apparently he can do everything, so saddle up your horses for a great conversation.

0877 Pinkie The Pig Podcast/ Instrumental "Whenever You Come Around" SING ALONG

0877 Pinkie The Pig Podcast/ Instrumental "Whenever You Come Around" SING ALONG

Instrumental Only : "Whenever You Come Around"
Written by Vince Gill & Pete Wasner, Released in 1994
Producer Renee plays her Rendition on Piano + Guitar.
SING ALONG ! Here are the lyrics:

The face of an angel, pretty eyes that shine,
I lie awake at night wishing you were mine,
I'm standing here holding the biggest heartache in town,
    Whenever you come around.

I get weak in the knees and I lose my breath,
Oh I try to speak but the words won't come,
    I'm so scared to death,
And when you smile that smile, the world turns upside down,
    Whenever you come around.

I feel so helpless, I feel just like a kid,
What is it about you that keep my feelings hid,
I wish I could tell you, but the words can't be found,
    Whenever you come around.

I get weak in the knees and I lose my breath,
Oh I try to speak but the words won't come,
    I'm so scared to death,
And when you smile that smile, the world turns upside down,
    Whenever you come around.
    Whenever you come around.

Listen to her songs “Trees We’ll Never See” and "What You Heard."

    Amy Grant (w/ Rehya Stevens)

What’s up, dudes? I've got critically acclaimed singer and songwriter Rehya Stevens here to talk all about Amy Grant Christmas ventures in the '80s! There was her 1983 release "A Christmas Album," her 1986 endeavor with Art Garfunkel and Jimmy Webb "The Animals' Christmas," and her 1986 tv  special Headin' Home for the Holidays

After completing her recent tour, Amy and her husband Gary head home for Christmas. Unfortunately, someone forgot make sure the truck had gas (looking at you, Gary)! And so, an unplanned stop in Montana forces the Christian pop superstar couple to meet some locals, do some shopping, and, of course, sing in the town Christmas show! Oh, Art Garfunkel and Jimmy Webb decide to join them to plug their latest album as well!

It's a sweet special, even if Ed Begley Jr. plays an odd shopkeeper. And you know you're in the biz when your collaborators rush out to join you in a local Christmas performance!

Arrowheads and sheep hoof lamps and campfires! Oh my! So grab your hot pink parachute pants, jump in your rental truck, and drive on down to this episode all about Amy Grant Christmas!

All we want for Christmas is... for Christian leaders to stop acting as gatekeepers for evangelical thought

All we want for Christmas is... for Christian leaders to stop acting as gatekeepers for evangelical thought

Aubrey is feeling snarky and you'll like the results. For one thing, Franklin Graham is ready to cancel Amy Grant. Does he get to be the gatekeeper for evangelicals?

Then, from an article at The Gospel Coalition, Brian & Aubrey talk about how rotten fruit is not gospel fruit. The things that shape the gospel aren’t necessarily the most sexy, and growth strategy is not the same as shepherding. And lastly, during Grinds my Gears: Aubrey has a truly unbelievable story about GrubHub.

Jim Daneker: Composer & Keyboardist for Michael W. Smith

Jim Daneker: Composer & Keyboardist for Michael W. Smith

On the forty-ninth episode of All Heart with Paul Cardall, Paul is joined by producer, composer and keyboardist for Michael W. Smith, Jim Daneker. Guest hosting with Paul is Mark Mabry. They discuss Jim’s gift of music that led him to Nashville to work with the biggest names in contemporary christian music, Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant. We discuss his album “Ad Alta” and the Dove Award winning album Jim produced for Paul simply called “Christmas.” They also discuss Jim’s mom and the recent passing of his father, a pastor from Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Jim Daneker is an award-winning and Billboard-charting composer/producer who specializes in the bold, evocative, and memorable.

In addition to 25 years as keyboardist, musical director, and producer for CCM icon Michael W. Smith, Jim has enjoyed a diverse musical career. He has produced albums, arranged and written music for film (including trailers for Hollywood blockbusters such as the Fast and The Furious franchise, Transformers 2, Chronicles of Narnia, and several Disney projects), and most recently, created a virtual instrument series under the banner Backstage Pass.

After 2 decades of serving other artists, Jim took 2 years to pursue his dream of scoring a cinematic instrumental album, called AD ALTA (released June 2017). This project fuses soaring melodies reminiscent of classic film scores with creative synth textures, ethnic instruments, massive percussion and driving pop/rock grooves, all wrapped in lush orchestration supported by top session players from around the world.

In 2018, Jim produced another Billboard #1 album, this time for quadruple #1 artist Paul Cardall - an album that had the unprecedented distinction of debuting on 9 charts simultaneously and won a Dove Award for Instrumental Album of the Year.

In 2020, Jim started pursuing several passion projects, including music for licensing via STEREO PHOENIX, continued work on the BackStage Pass series, and several other projects to be announced when the time is right.

Whether an epic film score, album production, orchestral arrangements or synth programming, no detail is overlooked; Jim's pursuit of excellence is passionate and relentless. When music is your message, every note counts.

Former HOF Intern - Blarin' Karen

We have arrived at episode four and we still have Greg Burgess in tow.  We get off the air with former HOF intern Blarin' Karen to get the behind the scenes of what really goes on with the interns.  From intern pranks, to Rick and Bubba trips gone bad, to disastrous moments that make it on air when running the board, she gives us the inside scoop.  We get the details of why she fired her band right before Fat Fest and what exactly is a "love" check. We discuss her favorite Rick & Bubba moment when she met her idol and her idol knew who she was.  We learn of the moment she thought she was going to get fired for sure, exactly what it is like to be the babysitter for Bubba, and the best way to remember lyrics for Fat Fest.  Once again, we have to make a quick call to the legal team for good measure.  We at least got this episode cleared for now.
