Chris and Taylor review the comedy film Joy Ride, directed by Adele Lim, in her feature directorial debut, and written by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao, from a story by Lim, Chevapravatdumrong, and Hsiao. The film stars Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu, with Ronny Chieng, Meredith Hagner, David Denman, Annie Mumolo, Timothy Simons, and Daniel Dae Kim.

More like Ridemaids. That's right, Joy Ride hit theaters this past weekend, and you'll never believe it. An R-rated raunchy comedy with positive reviews didn't make a ton of money at the box office. We know. Super surprising! But because we don't care about the Insidious franchise (and Jon watched Joy Ride twice for some reason), we thought it only fitting to find our cinematic Seoulmate. Well, Jon's at least.

Joy Ride was directed by Adele Lim in her feature directorial debut and she developed the story with screenwriters Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao. The film stars Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu, Ronny Chieng, Meredith Hagner, David Denman, Annie Mumolo, and Timothy Simons. It opened nationwide on July 7 through Lionsgate Films and has a 95-minute runtime.

Barb and Star are two middle-aged friends who decide to vacation in Florida at the Vista Del Mar Hotel. Jamie Dornan is the henchman of a villainess, and he's staying at the same hotel. Hijinks ensue. Your mileage may vary.

Abby, Jon, and Will review Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, an absurdist comedy from Lionsgate directed by Josh Greenbaum and co-written by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, who play the titular Barb and Star, a pair of lovable, well-coiffed, middle-aged best friends who go on a vacation that ends up being a bit more bizarre than they (and we) expected. The cast also includes Jamie Dornan, Damon Wayans Jr., and a crab who is certainly not voiced by Morgan Freeman.
