    See Spot Run

    See Spot Run
After a protracted trek through the Planet of the Apes franchise, we finally make our long-awaited return to one-off episodes with See Spot Run, one of many entries into the rich tradition of animal-fueled children's movies! But first...this week's Blue Plate Special has us remembering the life and career of comedy legend Norm Macdonald before speculating on Christopher Nolan's announced J. Robert Oppenheimer film at Universal Pictures; we follow that up with some initial thoughts on the latest trailers for Nightmare Alley and The Matrix Resurrections and some fully formed musings on one of 2021's few unqualified cinematic successes, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. Upon finally getting around to today's title subject, we pick from the low hanging fruit that is early 00s kids movies, wonder longingly what David Arquette's leading man career could've been, and applaud the testicular fortitude (see the movie and you'll know what we mean) offered up by screen mafioso legend Paul Sorvino. Fortune Feimster: Lions In The Ring (pt. 2)

Comedian, writer, and actress Fortune Feimster continues her discussion with Scott & Rozzi about her long journey to massive success, and her long journey to coming out. Known for her roles on Chelsea Lately, The Mindy Project, and Barb And Star Go To Vista Del Mar, Fortune demonstrates that her famous sense of humor is only matched by her incredible kindness, and that nothing was more integral to her success than being herself.

‘Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar’ with ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s’ Mary Elizabeth Ellis

Much like the movie we’re discussing today, listening to this episode is like taking a tropical vacation. And to do so, we’re joined by the wonderful actress and writer Mary Elizabeth Ellis (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Santa Clarita Diet). The movie we dissect on the show is the delightfully kooky, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. Plus, the gang answers an email about their favorite Black romance movies. And, as always, we’ve got ‘Staff Picks.’

In news, Ta-Nehisi Coates is set to write a new Superman movie, Robbie Williams will be portrayed by a CGI monkey, and Dame Judi Dench opens up about her deteriorating eyesight .
