The Appraisal Standards Board (ASB) announced this week there will be a 5th Exposure Draft to the proposed changes to USPAP.  Will they get this completed to have a new edition of USPAP by January 2024? Consider giving others the gift of time. We all are very busy people these days, with to-do lists packed full of items. Seems like before you can get the last item checked off, more have been added to the list. 

Time is scarce, so the best gift is sharing time with one another. If you can't meet someone in person, make a call. Send a card or even a small gift. You never know what an impact you can make on someone. Bryan received a gift and opened it during this podcast.

Most things change. If you don’t believe that look in the mirror.  Can you as an appraiser impact change?  Here is another chance for you to get involved as The Federal Housing Finance Agency, FHFA, had a press release on December 28, 2020 and have a Request For Information (RFI) on Appraisal – Related Policies, Practices, and Processes.  The RFI covers four areas related to appraisals:

• Appraisal modernization;
• The Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD) and the design of appraisal forms;
• Automated Valuation Models (AVMs) and appraisal waivers; and
• Valuation differences by borrower and neighborhood ethnic makeup.
