Kim and Justin Waszkiewicz on the birth of their daughter Nora who has Down Syndrome

Kim and Justin Waszkiewicz on the birth of their daughter Nora who has Down Syndrome

Welcome to the Guilbault Girls Show where you will have the opportunity to hear from mothers, fathers, siblings, and individuals themselves about their journey of living with a disability.

In this episode we had the pleasure of interviewing Kim and Justin Waszkiewicz founders of Isaac's aNORAble Homes.

Justin and Kim are high school sweethearts from two different worlds who were meant to be. They have watched each other grow and transform through their journey, but what remains the same is their love. Kim likes to keep Justin on his toes with all her dreams and spontaneous ideas and he goes above and beyond to make them happen.

They became parents at 28 and found out that their daughter had Down syndrome. This caught them by surprise and opened doors to a community that taught them how to love with compassion. They then had their second child Isaac who taught them how to love everyone. He also taught them a lot about grace.

Nora and Isaac have been advocating since they were both 3 months old. They have done this through advocating on Capitol Hill, modeling to promote inclusive marketing, and now through travel and Art with Isaac’s aNORAble Home.

They are a family who simply want to spread awareness about life with disability in order to embrace everyone as an individual. They also want to emphasize that everyone is worthy and worth does not come from what someone can or cannot do.

You can follow them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/aNORAble. To learn more go to: isaacsanorablehomes.com

Talking to Dr. Ken Thurlbeck about the Value of Art, but also about Beuys, Warhol, Madonna and Beeple.

Talking to Dr. Ken Thurlbeck about the Value of Art, but also about Beuys, Warhol, Madonna and Beeple.

We talk about the evolution of art. How got art to an investment product and we also talk about its value and performance. Check something about Jeff Koons and Damian Hirst's art and how they serve the art market.

Furthermore, Ken criticizes Joseph Beuys' wellknown quote "Everyone is an artist." and dares a little comparison between Beuys and Andy Warhol. Then, we learn the super exciting story of Leonardo da Vinci's painting Salvator Mundi before it got sold for $450 million USD and we learn how Ken was involved in this story.

We also talk about Fake Art and get Ken's thoughts on the booming NFT market where Madonna also tried to work with Beeple - unfortunately not very successfully. And we learn what Marc Zuckerberg has to do with an online assault.

My guest today is probably the best architect we have. Dieter Bankert, he worked at the Bauhaus in Dessau, designed two of the most important palaces of the GDR: the Palace of the Republic and the Friedrichstadt Palace, which is now a listed building. A conversation with an alert, young at heart person who also turned to painting.

Talking to Sixtine Crutchfield about the NFT Art Market.

Talking to Sixtine Crutchfield about the NFT Art Market.

In regards to the mysterious NFT art market I am very happy to present you today my conversation with Sixtine Crutchfield, she is art director of the NFT  WISe.art platform.

Sixtine has various degrees from universities around the globe and a lot of experience when it comes to art, NFT's and their trade. She explains to us why we don't need to be afraid of buying digital art or NFT's and why it is a good thing to approach this kind of art. She also lets us know about the nature of digital currencies.

A Bavarian in Texas. Anton Franz Höger is a true Bavarian original and you can hear that in this podcast.

But he's a very special Bavarian original, because he paints impressive, sensational oil paintings of, for example, the modern, self-confident woman. Or he paints himself as a puking king.

And it has drawn him out into the big wide world, which is not necessarily typical for a Bavarian. He lives and paints in Texas. His paintings are very popular and win prizes.

Be curious to hear what he tells us about his art in Bavarian, because he has very precise ideas.

Look forward to a piece of Bavaria in my art podcast.

    Talking to William Stoehr

    Talking to William Stoehr

I am presenting you my conversation with William Stoehr. William is an US painter with international success. The focus of his work is the desire to explore fundamental issues of our time. Intolerance, discrimination, addiction, violence and war - victims, witnesses and survivors - are his subjects.

His works are deeply intimate portraits that evoke different, deep emotions in each viewer.

During the pandemic, he could not paint in his studio, so he started creating amazing digital works. I am very happy to be able to offer you his digital art  works in my new online shop which you may find in www.petralossen.com.

    ________________

My todays guest is the art historian Prof.Dr. Raimund Stecker. I talk to him about his criticism of Gerhard Richter's art, which he even compares to shares.

We also compare Richter with the work of Lucio Fontana, Robert Ryman and also digital art. Fontana is famous for his cuts placed on the canvas, Robert Ryman is famous for his white paintings.

Raimund explains to us why he considers Richter's work as indirect art, but not as direct art.

My today’s guest is the artist Max Grüter.

Under the project name "my private Space Program", Max deals with digital space and its influence on art. Already at the end of the nineties, he radically declares the computer to be his basic artistic instrument. As an electronic sculptor, painter, draughtsman and self-proclaimed "first virtualist spaceman", he thus travels between the digital and the real world and is now an "old hand" in the rather new field of digital art.

His central symbol is the 3D character of an astronaut created by means of a computer, which appears in almost every one of his works. In my opinion, in a very likeable and attractive way. In 2007, he launched his first copy as an open source artwork into the digital unknown by mouse click.
