Louise Sparrow, Chair of the Australian Sewing Guild is back to tell us about a special online couture sewing presentation bought to you by Kenneth D King. In this 90 minute presentation, Kenneth teaches us how to sew couture strap seams via Zoom.

This presentation will also be available for 2 weeks after the presentation. You can go back and hear Kenneth D King who was on ASG Monday last week.

There are 2 more online workshops this month. You can finesse your skills when sewing a lined vent. You can also learn how to sew in an easy-sew collar stand. This workshop and previous online workshops will help members to put their new sewing skills into practice for the November challenge - Stitch a Shirt.

All Buttons Great and Small is a Sydney button retailer that provides buttons and closure both at the store and online. They have always provided a mail order service and you can order via their online collection.

ASG joins with Specialty Pleaters once again, to bring you this AUSSEW-Along. Last time this sewalong was a circular skirt. This year it's a simpler version - a straight piece of fabric pleated into a yoke.

A supply list will be emailed to you on Monday, 6th July.  Instructions will be sent to you at regular intervals over the following 8 weeks.

We're still in June and ASG members have had an absolutely fun time sewing toys this month. It's a bit different for members who would focus on clothing but this is the right time to simply sew for the fun of it. Have a look at their picture gallery.

This week Louise Sparrow discusses an easy challenge to get stuck into - Cozy sweater knit dress - it's free to enter.
Keep warm this winter in this cozy sweater-knit dress.  The pattern is very simple and suitable for beginners; more advanced sewists are welcome to jazz it up. The challenge is working with knits and attaching ribbing. Only ASG members will be eligible for the prize draw.
