Very few people speak about it.  They want to pretend that our young people are safe in a glamorous sports world, when the truth is often the opposite.
One person has led the fight to stop this appalling behaviour - Nancy Hogshead.
She is a fighter.   A triple Olympic gold medalist, who has spent her career battling to protect athletes.

With the release of Athlete A on Netflix, the current conversations surrounding Pizzagate and pedophile rings the subject of child sexual assault is extremely topical.

Tune in this week as Ollie introduces James to an extremely sad series of events that lead 125 victims falling prey to convicted sex offender, former USA Gymnastics national team doctor, Larry Nassar. Hosted by Scripps Howard award winning journalists, Kate Wells and Lindsay Smith, and brought to us by NPR and Michigan Radio Podcast; believed is the podcast that lets victims tell their stories.

This eight-episode series is a story of survivors finding their power in a cultural moment when people are coming to understand how important that is.

We spend time with gymnast,  Commonwealth Games gold medalist and Olympian Stephanie Moorhouse in this episode of A Whole New Ballgame. 

We learn what it's like to deal with the pressures and expectations of a nation as a teenager, and the sacrifices made for very little if any monetary compensation.

A career that was done at 18, Steph has a different transition story to most of our episodes. She openly admits it was tough, and that going from the Olympic stage back to a classroom presented some unique challenges.

That understanding, experience, and so much more has lead her to a role with Gymnastics Australia where she's part of helping shape the mindsets and therefore futures of some of our brightest athletes.

Steph has also collaborated with former teammate Ash Brennan to start 'YOU - Find Your Balance', a business dedicated to creating and empowering a positive community for young women. 💪
