V 28. Epizodi se pogovarjam z Anjo Oman. Je izjemno zanimiva oseba, ki sem jo spoznala prav preko Instagrama, kjer ustvarja avtentične vsebine, ki so me nemudoma pritegnile. Z Anjo občasno sodelujeva tudi preko popotniškega portala Vandraj.si, kjer Anja sicer opravlja svojo službo. Njen kreativni duh terja, da se udejstvuje na vseh mogočih področjih.

Anjo sem povabila k pogovoru, ker me preprosto njen način razmišljanja navdihuje, prav tako pa imava skupnega; izkušnjo dela v tujini ter ljubezen do potovanj in pisanja. V prvem delu sva se pogovarjali o njeni izkušnji dela kot aupair in turistične vodičke v Angliji. Govoriva tudi o tem kako se je vklopila nazaj v slovenski stil življenja in pa o tem, da svoboda ni vedno to, da imaš neomejene možnosti in svet na dlani. Potrebuješ tudi sidro.

V drugem delu se razgovoriva o travel influenserjih s katerimi ima Anja veliko izkušenj in pa o tem ali morda tak način podajanja vsebin nehote uničuje potovalno industrijo in turizem. V zadnjem delu pa nekaj tudi o tem kako je potovati z otroki in njihovo prilagajanje načinu življenja svojim staršem. Marsikateri od njenih pogledov bo morda sprva zvenel šokantno in predvsem nekonvencionalno. In takšna mnenja imamo najraje zato uživajte v odličnem pogovoru!

Govoriva o:
- Delo v Angliji kot aupair in turistična vodička.
- Kako se, ko se vrnemo iz tujine, vklopiti nazaj v slovensko okolje?
- Zakaj je Anja na instagramu tako avtentična in iskrena?
- "Ko bom, velika, bom JAZ"
- "Palma na Maldivih ni nič bolj sanjska kot oljka v hrvaškem zalivu."
- Ali travel influenserji nehote izkrivljajo potovalno industrijo in turizem?
- Na komu je odgovornost: na tistem, ki podaja ali sprejema informacije na IG?

- "Ko potujemo na destinacije, ki so priljubljene pri vplivnežih, pripadamo in smo sprejeti."

- Otrok se prilagaja staršem in ne obratno.

- Kaj bo Anja svojima otrokoma rekla, če bosta želela v tujino?
- "Meni je največ pomenilo, da me mami ni ovirala pri mojih odločitvah, temveč stala ob strani in zaupala."

With over 33 years in private service, Kellie Geres is an industry veteran. If you have not heard of Kellie, you probably aren’t in the nanny industry. Today we are peeling back to discover the knowledge only a few nannies have and get to know the ins and outs of the nanny industry from Geres' eagle eye view. 

Kellie was named the 1997 International Nanny Association Nanny of the Year, in 2014 was honored with the Domestic Estate Management Association Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2020 received the INA Meritorious Service Award.

Geres remains active in the industry, assuming several roles including APNA Administrative Assistant. She is a former INA Board Member and INA Conference Coordinator and volunteered with the organization for almost 25 years. In addition, Kellie is the international co-chair for InterNational Nanny Recognition Week (INNRW), co-creator along with Sue Downey of Our Nanny Diary which provides digital downloads and printed communication journals for nannies and families and maintains several industry websites including Regarding Nannies and NannyTrainings.com.

Kellie Geres believes that you should never stop learning as a caregiver, and encourages nannies to embrace all the educational opportunities available to them.

Early on in her career, Rachael Lubin got involved in the nanny community on a national scale. During her first year as a nanny she attended Nannypalooza, the International Nanny Association conference, iNNTD, and other local nanny events. These networking opportunities allowed Lubin to scale her career quickly. 

In late March of 2020, Rachael L. Lubin began seeing more and more people on her social media platforms lose their jobs, their incomes, and become fearful of their immediate financial futures. She decided that as long as she was still fully employed— and as long as the COVID-19 crisis kept so many people out of work— she would donate her Monday paycheck to those in need. Using the song "Today 4 U" from the Broadway musical Rent, she posted a video on social media asking for people to contact her if they had an urgent need for a small, one-time gift.  

Then along with a handful of other industry leaders, the Nanny Relief Fund - the first and only Nanny nonprofit to give direct relief to nannies in need was created. To date, They've raised over $125,000 and we are currently fundraising in order to be able to open up another round of grant applications.
