Make Peace With Yourself To Create The Impact You Are Here In This World To Create

Please hear me out. There are so many bad things in this world to fight against. You are not one of them.  So please stop fighting yourself.

In this episode, I will share with you the story of how I made peace with myself and why I believe it's so important for us to be at peace with ourselves. Ironically, my story about finding inner peace is actually related to the war that is happening in Ukraine.

This might be the most personal and most vulnerable podcast episode I have recorded to date,  but I believe that it's very important that I  tell this story, especially based on where I am in my life and my work.

I hope it resonates with you.

    EPISODE BREAKDOWN:

    • [03:26] A little bit more about myself: the background for this story
    • [06:16] Being in the middle of the growing hate that people have towards each other on both sides of the conflict
    • [07:37] My brother-in-law was a prisoner of war and thankfully survived
    • [09:32] My personal tragedy in this conflict: my family doesn’t talk to each other anymore
    • [10:29] My huge internal conflict: feeling I had to choose sides, why I couldn’t, and how I finally made peace with myself
    • [14:06] Why it's so important for us to be at peace with ourselves and how you can find that with yourself

HOST JACKIE TANTILLO "If A Guy Can Do It, I Can Do It" with Guest Nancy Dubard Nunn

She calls herself a 'professional southerner. Though tradition notwithstanding, Nancy often felt more like a tomboy than a young lady. She often felt that she didn't fit in and it wasn't just because she loved to wear blue jeans. "You can't do that because you're a girl" is something that Nancy heard on a regular basis.

After more than 2 decades of working in the construction industry, Nancy finally felt that she found her calling.

Her mom, Hettye (Polly) Sanborn, believed in her. She allowed her daughter the freedom to be herself and find her own path. And clearly, Nancy accomplished great things because of it.

"Should Have Listened To My Mother" is an ongoing conversation about mothers and the roles they play in our lives. And my guests answer the question, 'are you who you are today because of, or in spite of, your mother'? You'll be amazed at what the responses are.

"Should Have Listened To My Mother" would not be possible without the generosity, sincerity and insight from my guests. In getting ready to launch my podcast, so many were willing to give their time and share their personal relationships with their mother.

Some of my guests include Baritone Singer Christopheren Nomura, Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist Tim Wacker, Activist Kim Miller, Freighter Sea Captain Terry Viscount, Film Production Manager Peg Robinson, Professor of Writing Montclair State University Dr. Bridget Brown, Tammy Steckler, attorney and family advocate @CUNY Law; NYC First Responder/NYC Firefighter Mark Heingartner, Child and Adult Special Needs Activist, Maryellen Valyo Cole and Roger Evens, Property Manager in New Jersey and so many more talented and insightful women and men.

I've worked in the broadcasting industry for over four decades. I've interviewed so many fascinating people including musicians, celebrities, authors, activists, entrepreneurs, politicians and more.

A big thank you goes to Ricky Soto, NYC based Graphic Designer, who created my logo for "Should Have Listened To My Mother".
