So imagine if every global Tier 1 Special Operations unit all shared the same textbook for long range shooting. Now imagine having to sign non disclosure agreements to even read some of the pages in said textbook. It would be safe to reason said textbook is an extremely valuable body of work. Well it is an absolute honor to have Todd Hodnett,  the author of said textbook, on our podcast for the next two episodes. I always love catching up with the godfather of the "christmas tree reticle" .

Part 1 covers how he came to rewrite and instruct the worlds premiere sniper schoolhouses and the origins of the Horus / Tremor Reticles.

Part 2 will cover the nerdiest aspects of long range shooting, from new cartridges to bullet and optic selection.

Author and journalist Faris Cassell discusses her new book, The Unanswered Letter. The book tells the story of the Berger family who were Jews from Vienna. They sent a letter to strangers in the US in hopes of finding help in their effort to escape the Nazis shortly before the Holocaust. Cassell spoke with surviving family members and researched multiple records from Germany to tell the story of the family and explain why the information is relevant today.

Ways of Seeing Byzantium: Beautiful Bodies: Personal Adornment and Byzantine Aesthetics, Then and Now, Part 4

Ways of Seeing Byzantium: Beautiful Bodies: Personal Adornment and Byzantine Aesthetics, Then and Now, Part 4
May 2014 - Alicia Walker, assistant professor of the history of art, Bryn Mawr College. Held in conjunction with the exhibition Heaven and Earth: Art of Byzantium from Greek Collections, on view from October 6, 2013, through March 2, 2014, at the National Gallery of Art, this symposium takes its name and perspective from art critic and novelist John Peter Berger's 1972 book Ways of Seeing. Noted scholars Glenn Peers, Bissera Pentcheva, William Tronzo, and Alicia Walker seek to place the Heaven and Earth exhibition objects in context by answering questions generated by Berger's book: What world did these objects constitute in Byzantium and how did they form it? What values did they embody or create? How were they used and understood? Conversely what world do these objects constitute for us now? How do we understand them? And most important, then and now, are these works considered art?
