Best Work From Hom Headset 2022

Best Work From Hom Headset 2022

In this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast, find out which headset rose to the top of my list for the best work from home headset 2022.

Anyone who works from home, understands that there are unique challenges that come along with that. Everything from the sounds of babies crying, dogs barking, doorbells, landscapers all contribute towards making this a challenging place to work.

Listen to find out what makes my number one pick the best of the best in 2022, and why this is one headset you really need to be using.

This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder, and CEO of Headset Advisor.

So, you work from home, and you have a family canine, and kids too. That, as we know, creates noise challenges and demands for your attention and a lot more. Having the right tools can help you to deal with these things, and one of those tools is a good quality, great sounding headset.

Here's the headset that I feel is number one among all the availabe choices out there; the Orosound  Tilde Pro.

So what makes this headset any better compared to some of the more brand recognizable models? Here's why I think it's worthy of the top spot.

    1. Sound quality. This headset sounds noticeably better than just about any other headset we've tested to date. And, I have to say, we test a lot of headsets. So if having a headset that gives your callers a nice, deep, rich sound that's better than the rest, then the Orosound Tilde Pro is the headset for you.

    2. Noise Reduction. Let's be honest here, working from home can be a real  challenge when it comes to dealing with all  those different sounds going on in the background. The Tilde Pro does a superb job at filtering out unwanted noise. That gives your callers a better audio experience, and keeps them focused on the conversation,  and not the noise going on around you.

    3. Active Noise Cancellation.  This is a newer feature not found on all headsets. This is an electronic anti-noise feature that counteracts background sounds. The purpose of this feature is to allow you, the headset wearer, the ability to not be distracted by the sounds going on  around you. And, when you're  not distracted, you get more done.

    4. VoiceFirst. This feature allows you to have a face-to-face conversation  with someone while wearing the headset, and not have to remove it to do so. Removing a headset, and placing it back on repeatededly throughout the day can get irritating. This feature eliminates the frustration.

    5. Battery. You get 28 hours of talk  time, and 50% charge in 30 minutes. You can even continue using the Tilde Pro when it's plugged in for a recharge. That's someone most headsets can't claim.

    6. Modularity. The microphone can be used, or not because it's magnetically attached. It's easy to remove and attach. for business calls, use the boom mic, but for entertainment, remove it for listening, but there are several built in mics so you can still have a conversation if the boom mic is stored away. You also have the choice of oversize ear cushions, or those that go against the ear. Your choice in either case.

    7. Warranty. The Tilde Pro comes with a whopping 3-year warranty. That's one to two years longer than other brands. Longer warranty means longer peace of mind.

    Jabra Evolve2 65 Vs Evolve2 75 Comparison

    Jabra Evolve2 65 Vs Evolve2 75 Comparison

Have a listen to this Podcast to learn about how two highly popular Jabra Bluetooth headsets compare; the Jabra Evolve2 65 vs. the Evolve2 75.

There are differences that go beyond the price, so have a listen to find out what they have in common, and what  makes them different.

And if you listen to the entire episode, you'll get some tips on how you can save money when purchasing either, or both of these models. Even if your budget is tight, I let you know of a way that can allow you to provide new headsets to your team for far less than you can imagine.

This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor.

Bluetooth headsets are very popular in part due to the increased use of computers for carrying out our daily business communications.

We've all heard of applications like Microsoft Teams,  Zoom,  RingCentral, Cisco WebEx, Google Meet and the list  goes on. One thing in  common with all of these applications is headsets are typically used. So, when you want to communicate with coworkers or customers, having a great sounding, comfortable, reliable  headset is highly important. And that's where the Evolve2 65, and Evolve2 75 comes in.

Battery. Battery strength can be broken down into these categories; talk time, listening time and recharge time. So, let's take a quick look at that.

Evolve2 65 Listening time: Up to 37 hours
Evolve2 75 Listening time: Up to 36 hours (w/o ANC on) 33 hours if ANC is on

Evolve2 65 35 hours talk time (w/o busy light on), 24 if on
    Evolve2 75  24 hours (w/o busy light on), 18 if on

    To Recharge: Evolve2 65 takes 90 minutes. The Evolve2 75 takes 160 minutes

30 minutes on the charger gives the Evolve2 65 40% charge. After 35 minutes on the charger the Evolve2 75 gives you only 30%. After an hour on  the charger, the 65 gives you 80%, and after an hour and 10 minutes, the 75 gives you 60%. (Advantage Evolve2 65)

By the way, both headsets allow you to continue using them even when they're plugged in for recharging. This is something that you don't find on all headsets.

Microphones. The Evolve2 65 has three digital MEMS noise canceling mics, whereas the 75 has 8 (4 digital, 4 analog). Four of the mics are used for the Active Noise  Cancelation  feature, and HearThrough that's found on the Evolve2 75, but not on  the 65. The bottom line when it comes to mics though is sound quality; how they sound, and how well they reduce unwanted noise. Sound quality is subjective, but I prefer the sound and noise reduction on the Evolve2 65.

ANC/HearThrough. These are features found on the 75, and not on  the 65. Active noise  cancelation allows the person wearing the headset to not be distracted by background noise. ANC is an "anti-noise" feature that allows you to stay focused. HearThrough lets you keep the headset on when you want to have a face to face conversation. No need to take it off.

Speakers. Both headsets share the same 40mm speakers. For business grade headsets, they both sound very good. Not Bose or Sony level, but superb for a business oriented headset.

Wireless range. Both headsets are rated up to 30 meters/100 feet. Standard for Bluetooth headsetes these days.

Weight. The mono 65 is in the 3 ounce category, whereas the duo headsets (65 & 75) are in the 6. Standard weight for these kinds of headsets.

    Price. Evolve 2 65 mono: $263.00, duo: $274.00. Evolve2 75 duo:  $384.00
    2 year warranty

3 Things To Look For In A Headset Microphone

3 Things To Look For In A Headset Microphone

In this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast, you'll find out what to look for in a headset microphone when you're shopping around for new headsets. Because the truth is, they don't all sound  the same,  and they don't  all  give you what you need for use in business.

So have a  listen, to find out the three most  important  things to look for in a headset microphone if you want to sound your best, and give your callers the best possible sound quality experience.

This  episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of  Headset  Advisor.

Any headset that you might consider for business use varies. They vary in a number of ways, and one of those ways is in  how it sounds. And you have to agree, that when you use a headset for buisness,  sound matters. That's because you're either conveying information, or you're selling something, and in the process, you want your message to be heard. And that can't happen if the headset you're using isn't up to the task.

    Headset microphones should be evaluated in three key areas;

    1.  How well you sound when you're talking on a headset
    2.  How well the headset microphone removes background noise.
    3.  And often overlooked, but highly important  is  how you sound when the microphone is working to remove noise. In other words, how you sound when there's  noise  going on around you.

Headsets come in all sizes and shapes, and for that matter, different price points  too. Sound quality doesn't always mirror pricing which means just because you pay a lot, or a little for a headset, the sound you'll get is unpredicatable. We've tested some inexpensive headsets that do a good job at these three key areas. We've also tested headsets that cost a lot more, that are average at best in sound quality.

So how do you know what you'll get when you make a decision to buy a new headset for you, or your team? You can't go by name brands only, becasue as I mentioned, some fall short, even name brand products.

With nearly 30 years of headset experience, it would be my advice for you to try a headset in your place of work before deciding to buy it. Then, and only then will you really know how it will perform in your specfic workplace.

You could consult with others in your industry, or you could read reviews, but there's  really no substitute for first hand knowledge that can only be obtained by sampling live in your environment. And if your vendor won't provide you with a  headset to evaluate, then I'd suggest that you find yourself a new vendor to work with.

You want to sound crisp and clear on your calls, and that underscores the need for a great sounding headset microphone.

You don't want  your callers  hearing all that noise going on around you either. Whether you work from home, in an office, on the road, or at the local coffee shop, you have noise  to content  with. When your callers  hear that noise, they get distracted, which takes them away from hearing your message clearly.

Believe it or not, many headsets struggle to keep you sounding clear when there's  background noise. That's  something you want to test before buying any headset. Some headsets have you sounding choppy or garbled when there's  noise. Not the sound quality you need when on business calls.

Here’s Why The Orosound Tilde Pro Is Perfect For Zoom Calls

Here’s Why The Orosound Tilde Pro Is Perfect For Zoom Calls

In this episode you'll learn about a Bluetooth wireless headset that's perfect for all your Zoom voice and video calls. Listen in to find out what makes this headset better than others so you'll always sound your best when on your calls.

You'll also find out about a discount you can use if you buy one of these headsets, and you'll also find out about a unique purchasing program only available through Headset Advisor. So make sure to listen to the entire episode so you get all the details.

This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor.

For a business to achieve name recognition to the level that pretty much everybody knows it, is not an easy task. But that's exactly what Zoom has accomplished.

Zoom  went from a fairly recognizable name, to one that's achieved household name recognition status.  We all know about being on a "Zoom call" and what that means. But when you're on those calls, what is the best device to use so you're heard loud, clear and professionally?  How about the microphone and speakers that you find in any of the Laptops? Probably not your best option. Well, how about using a usb speakerphone? Better, but is it best? Not really.  You could always get one of those cheap plug in goose neck mics, but that would put you in the lower rungs of the microphone food chain. So what's best? A high quality wireless headset.

I'm not referring to just any headset, I'm referring to a good one because you want to sound good on all your calls. Here's the headset for you.

    The Orosound Tilde Pro

It gives you voice quality that's far superior to just about any other headset available. And the noise reducing microphone eliminates unwanted background noise so your callers will hear you, and not the sounds going on around you.

You get a battery that gives you 28 hours of talk time so you won't need to charge this headset every day. In fact, you may only need to charge it once a week. And when you're recharging, you can use the headset, where others will keep you waiting.

The Tilde Pro comes with a feature called Active Noise Cancelation, or ANC for short. ANC is designed to give the person wearing the headset control over the amount of noise they hear. You have 10 stages of noise control, so you can dial it up, or down, depending on how much you want to hear so you can keep focused on your work.

The Voice First feature allows you to have a face to face conversation, without the need to remove the headset. It can become very frustrating to keep taking off the headset throughout the day, but with Voice  First, you just press a button to have a conversation.

The excellent noise canceling microphone is magnetically attached. You can use it, or remove it at will. It removes simply, and reattaches easy as well. So when on important calls, use the boom mic for the best sound quality. Then, when listening to music, remove it for a headphones look.

The ear cushions are interchangeable between those that go against the ear, and those that fully surround the ear. Either way, you get to choose the ones that are right for you. And the sound quality of the ear speakers are first rate. Truthfully, they sound extremely good, and though not to the level of Bose, for a business headset, the Tilde Pro sounds incredible.

The Tilde Pro also comes with a  USB Adapter so you won't need to connect to your computer via Bluetooth, which can be unstable, and give you compromised sound quality. The USB adapter gives you a better connection, and better sound for use on all your Zoom calls.

3 of the very best headsets for use with RingCentral, that are 100% compatible include:

    1. Jabra Evolve2 40 - This is a wired, double ear USB computer headset
    2. Jabra Evolve2 65 - This is a budget friendly, wireless, double  ear USB headset
    3. Jabra Evolve2 75 - This is a premium wireless double  ear USB headset

All of these models are part of Jabra's latest family of headsets, the Evolve2 series, which are very modern, comfortable and great sounding.

The Evolve2 40 features 3 noise canceling microphones that deliver sound that’s sharp, loud and clear, just what you need when on important business calls. And those same microphones reduce unwanted background noise at a high level. There's model choices that include USB A, USB C, UC or Microsoft Teams variants. And being it’s RC certified, you can access calls from the headset for added convenience.

If you’re more interested in a wireless solution, then the Evolve2 65 is a model worth considering.

The Evolve2 65 is the entry model among the wireless headsets in this line. But don’t let that lead you to thinking that this is a cheap headset that’s in some way lacking in features, comfort or sound because that’s not the case.

The Jabra Evolve2 65 uses the same microphone technology used in the Evolve2 40, so you can expect to receive the same professional sound quality, and noise reduction capability. It comes with a pre-paired USB Adapter for plug and play convenience, and that highly popular feature of remote call answering for taking calls when away from the desk. Memory foam ear cushions, padded headband, and a lightweight design all help to make this a headset that's comfortable for all day use.

The Jabra Evolve2 75 tops our list as the premium option. It ups the game on sound quality and noise reduction by incorporating 8 noise canceling microphones. It not only reduces noise passively through it's specially designed ear speaker housings, but it comes with Active Noise Canceling that electronically removes noise so you can stay focused on your work.

When you're not doing business, you can swing the microphone up, and out of the way. It stores conveniently into a compartment which transforms this headset into headphones for your entertainment. The 40mm speakers deliver nicely for music and audio apps.

There's so much more to these headsets far beyond what I've lightly touched on here. To learn more, visit our website which is www.headsetadvisor.com to get more details.
