Ken Mink: Former 73 Year Old College Player, Gold Medalist & Author

Ken Mink: Former 73 Year Old College Player, Gold Medalist & Author

Age is just a number and today’s guest proved that to be true. We’ve got basketball history in the house! Ken Mink is the oldest college basketball player to ever score in a game and we get to hear all about it.

Ken Mink was born in 1935 and grew up in Tennessee. He starred on his high school team that led him to a scholarship to play at Lee’s College. An alleged prank that he was falsely accused of got him kicked off his college team in the 1950’s. Fast forward 53 years later and at the age of 73, Ken decided to give college basketball another shot. He made the team at Roane State in 2008-2009 and became the oldest player to ever score in a college basketball game. He played and scored in multiple games and became an inspiration across the world. He went on to win many gold medals in the senior olympics in both team and individual competitions and is still competing to this day at age 86. Ken shares great stories about growing up in Tennessee, Johnny Cox, Frank Selvy, Pete Maravich, Big O, the alleged prank, his comeback at age 73, senior olympics, changes in the game, his books and MUCH more.

BIG thanks to Ken for taking the time to hang out and share his journey with us. We loved hearing more about his story, learned a lot about the game and shared plenty of laughs in this one as well. We know you will be inspired and enjoy listening to this one!

    Thank you Ken Mink!

Please support Ken and check out his books. Simply search Ken Mink Books and checkout his latest book titled "Zippy and Zoomer’s Incredible Journey.”

    Fetishes - Sex Gone Sideways

    Fetishes - Sex Gone Sideways
We finish February, Valentine's month discussing FETISHES and S&M is another example of Human Disconnect. When bonding to humans is just too painful, it is easier to redirect that energy to objects. After all, objects can't break your heart, right? A classical case of classical conditioning, when sexuality and the Big O is paired with visual or tactile stimuli like shoes, or leather, just about ANYTHING, the brain makes that association and the object becomes the "cue" for the arousal. In sadomasochistic relationships there is an enactment of the hurter and the hurtee--another example of bonding gone wrong at CAUSE--Mother-Infant disconnect. When we are infants and out of control over our lives and our safety and our ability to control pain, we will often re-enact it in a WTF or What The Freud Repetition manner. The role play allows us to gain control of possible past wounds of childhood. Bondage, like childhood is a hostage situation, meaning that we have no choice who our parents are, how we are treated, and mostly NO CONTROL over it. Through S&M we can voluntarily control the actions and pain. Today we shrunk the tune ROPE BURN by Janet Jackson.
