Min tone i livet: Jonas Hjorth Andersen - Jakob Bro, Heroines (Variation)

Min tone i livet: Jonas Hjorth Andersen - Jakob Bro, Heroines (Variation)
Varighed: 7:03

Jazz Bastard Podcast 254 - Mikey Likes It!

Jazz Bastard Podcast 254 - Mikey Likes It!

Some people accuse critics of being subjective, but when discussing music there's always one Platonic fact you can point to above and beyond the shifting tides of fashion and trend:  does Mikey like it?  In this case, yes, yes he does.  He likes all four of this episode's albums.  Pat, on the other hand?  Still a bit bastardly.  We kick the episode off with some reader comments and end it talking about 80s music and Joni Mitchell, so something for everyone.  Michael Blake – COMBOBULATE;  Jamie Branch – PINK DOLPHINS; Ches Smith – INTERPRET IT WELL; Ben Markley - ARI’S FUN HOUSE.

Reinvention Ep. 2 // Rafiq Bhatia Speaks With Guitarist and Composer Bill Frisell

Reinvention Ep. 2 // Rafiq Bhatia Speaks With Guitarist and Composer Bill Frisell
In the 14th episode of the Son Lux podcast "Plans We Make,” @Rafiq Bhatia speaks with influential guitarist and composer @Bill Frisell. One of the most sought-after guitar voices in contemporary music, Frisell has contributed to the work of such collaborators as Brian Eno, John Zorn, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, film director Gus Van Sant, Bono, and more. The breadth of such performing and recording situations is a testament not only to his singular guitar conception, but his musical versatility as well. https://www.billfrisell.com/ Subscribe to the podcast now: https://smarturl.it/sonluxpodcast Plans We Make is available wherever you listen to podcasts, and full videos will go up on YouTube. Who wrote it? What song does the Gnarls Barkley version sample heavily? Why did Gnarls Barkley remove it from record stores?
WARNING: This episode contains traces of Dobby Dobson (yes, that's his name).

Jazz Bastard Podcast 210 - Me So Zorny

Jazz Bastard Podcast 210 - Me So Zorny

Pat got a four-LP set from John Zorn’s Tzadik label and thought an episode catching up with recent events in the Zorniverse might be a good idea.  Mike thought the title of this episode was a good idea.  Brace yourselves.   All four albums feature Zorn the composer, while only one features Zorn the alto saxophone player and only one features a demonically possessed Muppet on vocals.  Pop matters reveals that Mike still doesn’t like Joanna Newsom and still has mixed feelings about Frank Zappa.  John Zorn – SANHEDRIN; NOVE CANTICI PER FRANCESCO D’ASSISI; THE LAST JUDGMENT; ALHAMBRA LOVE SONGS.

Jazz Bastard Podcast 209 - Blue Notes We Missed

Jazz Bastard Podcast 209 - Blue Notes We Missed

A lot of 2020 was spent in the fetal position, so it's not surprising some interesting jazz releases passed us by.  This episode the boys check out four Blue Note releases from that memorable year, all of which we like pretty gosh darn well.  So at least there's something from 2020 we like.  Pop matters wallows in eighties nostalgia, but what did you expect?  Various Artists - BLUE NOTE RE:IMAGINED; Ron Miles – RAINBOW SIGN;  Artemis – ARTEMIS: Joel Ross – WHO ARE YOU?

Primera hora.
