    The Metro East Black Wealth Builders is committed to provide quality education, networking opportunities, and build a collective of Black owned businesses in the St. Louis Metro East region to increase business capacity, growth, and achieve scalability based on the results of the Black Business Survey results. Ms. Jo Ann May of the Illinois Small Business Development Center, SIU-E/East St. Louis office discussed how to access and utilize SBDC resources including free training and webinars, as well as registering for their ongoing webinar series. It is important to build community and stakeholder engagement to connect minority businesses to access resources necessary for business sustainability, and to identify potential ways to secure funding as well.

    The Metro East Black Wealth Builders is committed to provide quality education, networking opportunities, and build a collective of Black owned businesses in the St. Louis Metro East region to increase business capacity, growth, and achieve scalability based on the results of the Black Business Survey results. The first workshop dedicated to providing educational resources to promote sustainable growth features Sean Haire, Better Business Bureau - St. Louis. Mr. Haire discussed how the BBB can assist businesses raise their profile and the accreditation process to provide credibility to services rendered. The BBB provides a vetting system to ensure that complaints filed are valid prior to affecting an organization’s accreditation rating, and use of its features may include a direct quote request for future clients and stakeholders who may be interested in an organization’s services.
