Synthetic cannabinoids are marketed as legal and typically consist of plant material coated by chemicals, which are supposed to mimic THC, the active chemical compound in marijuana. The drugs are marketed as incense, herbal mixtures, or potpourri in order to mask their true purpose. For years, China has been a primary source of fentanyl trafficked into the United States. It is a powerful prescription drug for severe pain that's made and sold illegally. It led to more than 37,000 overdose deaths in the U.S. in 2019, part of a national opioid crisis that has worsened this year during the coronavirus pandemic, according to federal health authorities.

Was Thomas Jefferson Black? (The 5 Black Presidents)

Was Thomas Jefferson Black? (The 5 Black Presidents)
Was Thomas Jefferson Was Black? (The 5 Black Presidents)

I’m a professor of Black Studies at the University of Virginia, founded by Thomas Jefferson in 1819. Jefferson wrote the American Declaration of Independence and went on to become third president of the United States. He was also an enslaver and a rapist.

When I remind people of this they usually tell me not to call Jefferson a rapist or condemn him for enslaving Black people because he was just a “man of his time.”But what does that mean? Does it mean we ignore that Jefferson enslaved more than 600 Black people during his lifetime, including Sally Hemings, the teenage girl he forced into a sexual relationship with him and whose six children he fathered only to enslave them too?

Do we shrug off knowledge that enslaved children were whipped at Monticello—a brutal terror tactic used by enslavers to exert domination and control? And do we pretend that as head of state Jefferson was powerless to end slavery when other world leaders of the time managed to do so?In day-to-day life, “man of his time” is a cliché often used to excuse past crimes, especially those of so-called great white men. For scholars it’s a meaningless phrase though. Every person is of their time. What we’re interested in is how people lived in their time. All of them. Not just a chosen few. (BY MARLENE L. Episode 93 - Rogan Said a Naughty
Apparently, the producer of this fine program is a hotshot who wants no part in my self-immolation fetish, so I have to cloak my various jokes in the garb of sincerity. Unfortunately, I never got to do my inventor routine or even the etymology of N. The passive-aggressive-eunuch Vikings in Denmark tried to steal some natural immunity valor... Why am I the only guy catching these things?

FOF #2931 - George Washington Carver Loved to Talk to the Flowers
What they didn’t tell us in grade school about George Washington Carver is that he came across as unapologetically queer-Carver spoke to the flowers every morning, he shared a bed with his male lover and he rubbed out the sore muscles of college athletes with his therapeutic hot peanut oil massage.

Today comedian Matt Brown joins us to look at the scientist and mystic, George Washington Carver- his pen pal friendships with married women, his romance with Tuskegee scientist Austin Curtis Jr and working as a nutritional advisor to Gandhi.
