    Lean In To Fear

    Lean In To Fear
My daughter Adia celebrates and honors me with the most incredible words and gifts on my special days. This Mother's Day in a FB post she wrote: "to the woman who never tried to pretend she was fearless but instead leaned in to fear..." and inspired this episode.

I talk about some of the things that scare us, like judgment, failing, the unknown, what fear can masquerade as, and how to lean in to it.

Episode 5 was inspired by Stephanie Perry of Exodus Summit, who did some YT videos about Black Women learning to embrace a life of EASE. Shucks, it didn't even occur to most Black Women during my era to question societal and familial dictates, rules, and expectations around work, love, relationships, and success. Thank God younger BW are challenging and redefining what it means to be black and woman in America and beyond. Have a listen to why I believe BW struggle letting go of struggle.
