229 – How often do you hear: "The blood of Jesus saves you from your sins," or something to that effect?

The more I have pondered and prayed about all the Bible has to say about God's forgiveness of sins, Jesus's crucifixion, and more specifically, the blood of Jesus, I've come to the conclusion that there's more to forgiveness than just the fact that Jesus's blood was shed.

Spoiler Alert:
This may sound a little controversial at first, but when you listen to this episode, you'll understand what I'm talking about.

What really got me to thinking is something Paul says in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 15, about the crucifixion, the resurrection, forgiveness of sins, and our faith.

Too many Christians pass over this crucial passage of Scripture and miss the bigger picture of what Paul is saying about salvation and forgiveness.

That's what this episode is all about, 

• Getting a bigger picture of how and why our sins are forgiven
• The blood of Jesus and why it's not just about the literal blood that flowed through his veins 2,000 years ago
• The deeper spiritual meaning of what the blood of Jesus represents
• Why the crucifixion of Jesus, along with his blood, are not enough to free us from sin

In 1 Corinthians 11:28 the Apostle Paul talks about discerning the Lord’s Body. What does this mean? Who is the Lord’s Body? It is vital that we recognize and understand this, so we can partake of the Lord’s supper in a worthy manner and get along with other members of the Body of Christ. 

We are chips off the old block of our forefather Adam and have inherited sin and its effect: death. But in Christ Jesus we are reborn children of God--made righteous by His blood on the cross and made inheritors of eternal life.

I had the privilege to hear Melanie's testimony and voice live this past summer.  Her story impacted me and graciously allowed me to see the restoration of God in her own life.  Melanie shares that, "she was haunted by a childhood of darkness, fear and abuse; a young adulthood of suppressed feelings, manipulations and lies; [her] life was changed forever in a miraculous personal encounter with Jesus."  As a singer/songwriter Melanie uses her voice to showcase her journey of healing through Jesus.
