Ep. 58 - I Want Booze (She's So Heady) (feat. Jason Narducy)
Please listen in for a show first, as The Blottos take on this week's introduction in arrears, we're sure you can't even tell...Tommy gets caught cheating on his intro and Becker needs a couple of takes to get into it. From there, special guest Jason Narducy joins in and he brought a big big track to talk on. Jason is part of a lot of things we love - his band Split Single and a member of Superchunk & the Bob Mould band. Good chat with a great guest (on the best Beatles track?), dig it.
If you are unfamiliar with Jason's work, please check out his music as Split Single and follow along on IG & Twitter. Check if he's rolling through your town in late March / April.
As always, you can find Team Blotto Beatles on Instagram (@blottobeatles) and Twitter (@blottobeatles), by emailing us (blottobeatles@gmail.com), or on the web (blottobeatles.com). We want to hear from you!
Please also take the time to rate and review us on Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
We have a shop! Grab some merch. You can always drunk dial us at 1.857.233.9793 to share your thoughts, feedback, confessions, and concerns and to be featured in an upcoming episode. Enjoying the show? Buy us a beer via the tip jar (don't forget to include a message telling us what we should drink with the money).
You know we're making a list of it, see the canonical, argument-ending list of Beatles songs we are assembling here: https://www.blottobeatles.com/list & listen to it on Spotify here.
Please remember to always enjoy Blotto Beatles responsibly.
Peace and Love.

Bottled Lightning Sweet Spots
On this week's show, we...
- spend quality time with the superlative new record from The Mountain Goats
- celebrate 30 years of Sugar's Copper Blue

All this & much, much less!
Debts No Honest Man Can Pay is over 2 rock-solid hours of musical eclectica & other noodle stories. The show started in 2003 at WHFR-FM (Dearborn, MI), moved to WGWG-FM (Boiling Springs, NC) in 2006 & Plaza Midwood Community Radio (Charlotte, NC) in 2012, with a brief pit-stop at WLFM-FM (Appleton, WI) in 2004.
Ep. 109: Old Soles - A Shoegaze Revival
This week your rock n’ roll vampires suck on the neck of a long-forgotten genre that emerged in the late 80s – early 90s. A genre that exploited obscured vocals, guitar distortion, effects, feedback, and overwhelming volume: SHOEGAZE. Primarily based in the UK, these bands used the artistry of guitar innovation to paint some wonderfully layered sonic canvases! If you have a preconceived notion that you don’t like this stuff, we ask that you give this episode a shot as you might be surprised how much it rocks…
What is it we do here at InObscuria? Every show Kevin opens the crypt to exhume and dissect from his personal collection; an artist, album, or grouping of tunes from the broad spectrum of rock, punk, and metal. This week we focus on the FORGOTTEN. If you were into this music when it came out back in the early 90s, chances are that you haven’t revisited it in a while. Come along on this ride with us and spend the next 90-min staring at your feet! We hope we re-introduce some of you to these bands and turn others on to something completely new!
Songs this week include:
- Swervedriver – “Blowin’ Cool” from Mezcal Head (1993)
- Ride – “Here And Now” from Nowhere (1990)
- Drop Nineteens – “Limp” from National Coma (1993)
- Catherine Wheel – “Kill Rhythm” from Chrome (1993)
- Lift To Experience – “These Are The Days” from The Texas Jerusalem Crossroads (2001)
- Kitchens Of Distinction – “Sand On Fire” from Capsule: The Best Of Kitchens Of Distinction 1988-1994 (1994)
- My Bloody Valentine – “Only Shallow” from Loveless (1991)

Episode 87 - Jon Wurster
Queen - How did they reproduce Bohemian Rhapsody in concert?
Queen had just released “Bohemian Rhapsody” in 1976, with a ground-breaking film clip, and the question was, “Can they play the clip live?”. Well, they not only did it, but they blew everyone's socks off!
Mick and the Phatman were there and recall one of the best concerts ever seen in Australia.
From Freddy Mercury appearing in silhouette, to a leap straight into a perfect recreation of the "rock" part of the song they showed 5,000 awestruck Aussies how it was done!
References: Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, Sugar, Copper Blue, Bob Mould, Husker Du, ABBA, Toto, Frenzal Rhomb and a show with Bo Diddley, Sherbet and Cold Chisel all on the one bill.

Ep. 54: Another WILD CARD featuring Jeremy Zamora
What is it that we do here at InObscuria? Besides conducting ridiculous game shows, we exhume obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. In this episode we take a listen to all 3, as we let our contestants pick a randomly obscure song by the decade in which it was released from a creatively curated playlist. Our good friend Jeremy has been in bands with your hosts; and is an amazing guitarist and all-around music aficionado.

It's Gonna Be A Long Walk Home
The world's been turned upside down by the Thanos-snap of COVID-19, the president continues to defy logic & good sense at every turn, and the horrific & inexcusable death of George Floyd reverberates throughout the world with a louder-than-ever dialogue about police brutality, police reform & systemic racism that will hopefully bring about some long overdue change.
It's gonna be a long walk home from all of this, but nobody has to go it alone.
With that in mind, we spin songs of protest, songs of unrest & songs of revolution on this week's show from The Isley Brothers, Bob Mould, Public Enemy, Lucinda Williams, Tom Morello, Bruce Springsteen, Mavis Staples & Bob Dylan, among others. We also spend quality time with the brand new Run The Jewels record.
All this & much, much less!
