Episode 231: Live at UCB Sunset with Ron Funches, Andy Kindler, Nick Thorburn, Mike Eagle and John Gemberling

On today's episode, taped live at UCB Sunset on August 3rd, 2015, I'm joined by five of my favorite comedians and musicians: stand-up and actors Ron Funches and Andy Kindler, actor and improvisor John Gemberling, and musicians Open Mike Eagle and Nick Thorburn. Ron can currently be seen on the NBC sitcom Undateable, Andy is on the IFC show Maron, and beyond that, both are some of the best stand-ups out there. John was on the recently canceled NBC show Marry Me, but also plays Abbi's roommate's boyfriend Bevers on the Comedy Central hit Broad City. Mike Eagle is a rapper loosely affiliated with the Hellfyre Club collective/label and his EP A Special Episode Of was released earlier this year. Finally, Nick Thorburn is a member of and the driving force behind the indie rock band Islands, and has also released two solo albums as Nick Diamonds, the second of which City of Quartz was released this year.

    Episode 69 - Because Whatever

This week we cover a broad range of subjects. The Oscars and the strange voters, Jorge Gutierrez and why Stephen likes him so much, software going subscription based into "the cloud," and a fan-game BURGERBOSS from "Bob's Burgers!" There's some analysis and some inspiration and a skit, in true RubberOnion fashion. You won't want to miss this episode... because, whatever.

    Bob's Burgers: A Love Letter

    Bob's Burgers: A Love Letter

Bob's Burgers is an American animated sitcom created by Loren Bouchard in 2011. On this episode host Revill sits down with return guest Ashley Hogge and Brandon Fishwick and have a chat and geek out over the series as well as other animated sitcoms (The Simpsons, Futurama  King of The Hill, Archer, Adventure Time, and South Park).

    Episode 156: Eugene Mirman

    Episode 156: Eugene Mirman

On today's show I talk to stand-up and actor Eugene Mirman. Originally from the USSR, Eugene and his family emigrated when he was four, settling in Massachusetts. From an early age, Eugene was interested in comedy, and he even studied it in college. He began performing stand-up in 1992 and since then has become a veritable brand. He's had recurring roles on shows like Flight of the Conchords and Delocated, he currently voices Gene Belcher on Bob's Burgers, he created The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, and he frequently co-hosts Neil deGrasse Tyson’s science show, Star Talk Radio. And that barely captures even a centimeter of Eugene's bio!

Episode 384 - CNI One-Shot! Comic Book Men Special

Episode 384 - CNI One-Shot! Comic Book Men Special

Jimmy attended the press luncheon for AMC's new reality show COMIC BOOK MEN which debuts this Sunday, February 12th at 10pm EST on AMCTV. He got the first 40 minutes of the press conference for your listening pleasure! Apologies for not the best of sound so turn that volume up! Creator of the series, Kevin Smith himself, led the discussion with questions from the press. Jimmy got a couple of good ones in himself! They even broached the subject that caused a bit of a kerfluffle in the comics community regarding the lack of women in the show. Kevin Smith invited Jimmy out to the set of the show the next day and Jimmy gives you his report. Make sure you listen to last episode 383 with interviews with Kevin Smith, Walt Flanagan and Bryan Johnson. Thanks to all involved especially Kayla at Ferencomm and Kevin's assistant Meghan. Leave your iTunes comments! 5 stars and nothing but love!
