Episode 2 of Chucky dives deeper into the characters of the series. Here's our take on them all. It's panning out to be a great show so far.
Chucky the TV series premieres with a BANG. Check out our take on our favorite killer doll slashing his way into network tv.
Jordan and Brooke are joined by past guest and friend of the pod Arden Jurskis to discuss 2004's extremely progressive (and extremely violent) gender-based slasher. Listen in as Brooke geeks out over "Bound" references, Jordan comes to terms with his fear of Chucky dolls, and Arden gives their manifesto on the enduring queerness of this franchise. Also, Chucky tramp stamp incoming?

It’s here, it’s here, Doll Month is finally here! You know we had to start with the ultimate haunted doll flick, which is why Spooky Tuesday is kicking off our first theme month by taking on Child’s Play (1988). It’s the movie that gave us Chucky, Seventh Heaven Mom, a new girlfriend named Maggie, another rant about cultural appropriation, and a lifetime of trauma — so, suffice it to say, it’s iconic. On our latest episode, we’re breaking down all of that and more, including Monica’s cursed crush on a serial killer and Sydney’s starring role as the Bride of Chucky.
Welcome to the Horror Project Podcast. Join hosts Phil and Laura as they review Child's Play (1988). The first film in the Child's Play series and the first installment to feature the character Chucky.
Together we shall be reviewing the film in spoiler-filled detail, finding a place on the leaderboard for the movie during our Ranking. Plus discover which character's are taking home the Body-Bag-Award this week for best death. Plus test your wits against our Child's Play quiz!
We hope you enjoy the show, thanks for listening.

Connor & Jon finish off the series with a film that had great ambition, but fell short of the imagined product: David Lynch's Dune. The two argue over what qualities drove Lynch to make the film, whether the Dune sequels can be adapted, and forget to even mention the great score by Toto!!
WARNING: Major spoilers for Dune

Even in the midst of a year as hectic and unconventional as this one, Oscar season is still in full swing when it comes to this week’s selection of heavy hitters. Joining me once again for the first time in nearly three years is Maria Garcia, my former partner in crime from such shows as Now Conspiring and Part-Time Characters, and we’re discussing two films often hailed as being among the greatest of all time! We begin with Raging Bull, the morally complex sports biopic that saved Martin Scorsese’s life and has developed a widely varied legacy, and which one of us isn’t especially fond of! From there, we rewind the clock to visit Miloš Forman’s award season darling One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, a wholly unique classic within film history that holds up wonderfully to this day! What is the nature of tragedy? How far can sympathy and empathy take us? Has Sam become completely unrecognizable in the past three years? Which actor’s appearance in Cuckoo’s Nest has traumatized Maria on more than one occasion, and who emerges as the unexpected MVP of the film? Tune in to this week’s Extra Milestone for all of those answers and more.
NOTE: Due to an unfortunate (and ultimately miraculously avoided) technical error, the final 15~ minutes of the episode were slightly distorted. Sorry about that!
SHOW NOTES:
HOSTED BY: Sam Noland and Maria Garcia
MUSIC IN THIS EPISODE: Music from Raging Bull composed by Pietro Mascagni, music from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest composed by Jack Nitzsche
