Jeff joins D23 to attend the private after-party in Disneyland's Tomorrowland, and Dave joins in to report from a Lucasfilm screening of the film days later, and we offer our initial spoiler-free impressions of the film. Also, we talk Avengers, and offer some thoughts about the latest installment in the Marvel cinematic pantheon. Next: the Haunted Mansion welcomes back the Hat Box Ghost after nearly 46 years, and we offer our thoughts and responses to the new character, brought back to life with a little digital pixie (or is that mummy?) dust.

    EP 11 - The Incredibles 2

    EP 11 - The Incredibles 2

This week Jim and Jeff enter the hallowed halls of Pixar to take on The Incredibles 2, to see if it is on ‘Parr’ with the original...Then they gape in awe at the Technicolor rock-camp miasma that is Flash Gordon, and attempt to side-step the scenery that is chewed by many garishly costumed British actors to make sense of it all, and to try and validate Sam Jones.  And Confessional Alert...What Would Your Superpower of Choice Be?

    Episode 25: - The Incredibles 2 & Lady Bird

    Episode 25: - The Incredibles 2 & Lady Bird
Andy and Zach review Disney-Pixar's triumphant return to the superhero genre in Brad Bird's 'The Incredibles 2' and talk about an upcoming true-to-life film out of New York (and screened at the Oak Cliff Film Festival) in Crystal Moselle's 'Skate Kitchen' before wading through the cacophony of all-too-real themes in Greta Gerwig's coming of age film 'Lady Bird'.

Ep. 97: Ma Universe, Ma Rulz

Fictional universes have been around for a long time, and there's many worlds beyond the MCU, Start Wars and DCEU that we love. So Tejas, Dinkar and Navin take this episode to discuss their favourite universes, the ones they'd like to live in, and the ones they might be living in right now??

Mousetalgia Episode 253: Bird's 'Tomorrowland' and 'The Optimist'

Mousetalgia Episode 253: Bird's 'Tomorrowland' and 'The Optimist'

"The Optimist" takes center stage in this third episode in Mousetalgia's coverage of the D23 Expo. As part of the promotional machine behind Brad Bird's upcoming film "Tomorrowland," "The Optimist," an alternate reality game, has captured the imaginations of many forward-looking futurists. Participating in the finale of its initial phase at the D23 Expo, Jeff and Kristen report on meeting many of the characters inhabiting this alternate reality as they solve puzzles and chase clues, working together with like-minded souls in their pursuit of a proposed fictional utopian society with which WED was intricately involved. Disney also unveiled its "Tomorrowland" pavilion at D23, burying fans in piles of clues and historical documents, all of which add pieces to the "Tomorrowland" puzzle. We also take a look back at WED's real history during the '64-'65 World's Fair, and try to find some context for Walt Disney's intriguing concept of a glittering "City of Tomorrow." Also, Dick Van Dyke has a car-tastrophe! Plus, some clarification about Marc Davis and Tinker Bell from Mindy Johnson, filming at DCA, Planes - and more!

GeekAgenda059: Crazy Eyes And Sparkle Fingers

In which Thom welcomes movie ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary Grae Drake back to the show, to regale one and all with tales of drunken junkets, star-power subversion, and the thin line between critic and journalist. Then, our dynamic duo searches in vain for superlatives potent enough to describe the joy that The Avengers hath wrought. If you haven't yet seen the movie (yeah, right) beware of random acts of spoilers. And swooning.
