How often should we expect to see Vaughn Grissom in the lineup with the return of Ozzie Albies?

How often should we expect to see Vaughn Grissom in the lineup with the return of Ozzie Albies?

On this edition of From the Diamond, Grant and Caleb kick off the show as they do every show by recapping what was this Week in Braves Baseball. The guys discuss what the Braves have coming up down the final stretch of the season, the Braves losing four out of five on their latest road trip, the Cubs sweeping the Mets being a big help to the Braves, Ozzie Albies returning to the lineup last night after fracturing his foot in June, and the the Grant and Caleb close out the segment by explaining why the Braves’ comeback win last night was exactly what the Braves and the Braves’ offense needed. Next, Grant and Caleb continue hour one by continuing their recap of what happened this week in Braves Baseball. The guys discuss Ronald Acuña Jr. returning to right field after Ronald spent a lot of time at DH to help heal up his sore knee, why having both Ronald Acuña Jr. and Ozzie Albies back in the field and in the lineup is a big deal. Grant and Caleb also discuss why this entire Braves lineup needs to get going, more specifically Austin Riley and Matt Olson. Finally, the guys close out the segment by discussing Michael Harris II continuing to get better as the season goes along, the amazing season William Contreras has put together, and why the Braves have the best pair of catchers on the offensive end. Finally, to close out hour one on this edition of From The Diamond, Grant and Caleb finish recapping what happened this week in Braves baseball by discussing what almost was Raisel Iglesias getting the save opportunity over Kenley Jansen before the Braves offense blew the game open in the bottom of the eighth. Grant and Caleb also discuss the Braves losing Kirby Yates for at least two weeks due to elbow inflammation, the Braves having options besides Jake Odorizzi if they so choose, and some not so great news on the farm as Mike Soroka gives up three home runs in five innings during his rehab start on Friday, and Ian Anderson being done for the season as he suffered a strained oblique down in Gwinnett with the Stripers. To kick off hour two of this edition of From the Diamond, Caleb and Grant go around the big Leagues. Grant and Caleb start in the National League and discuss the Mets struggling in the month of September as they have been dealing with some injuries, the Braves continuing to try and take over the NL East, and the Phillies trying to make that hard for the Braves. In the NL Central Caleb and Grant discuss the St.Louis Cardinals’ second half surge that’s given them a seven and a half game division lead over the Milwaukee Brewers going into the final two and a half weeks into the season. Finally, Grant and Caleb wrap up their National League report in the NL West. Grant and Caleb discuss the Dodgers already clinching the division, and with the best record in baseball are looking like they will earn a first round bye in the MLB postseason and won’t have to participate in a best of three Wild Card series. Grant and Caleb close out this edition of From the Diamond by continuing their look around the big leagues, and this time around they focus on the American League. In the AL East, Grant and Caleb discuss the Yankees trying to avoid a colossal second half meltdown as they try to hold on to their five and a half game lead in the AL East and perhaps save the job of their Manager and General Manager. In the AL Central, Grant and Caleb discuss the Cleveland Guardians taking over the top spot in the division due to the Minnesota Twins sliding in September to the point where they are now in third place after the Chicago White Sox passed them for second place as well. Caleb and Grant also discuss the Wild Card not being a postseason option for any of the AL Central ball clubs as well. Finally, Grant and Caleb close out their American League report in the AL West. Caleb and Grant discuss The Astros getting Justin Verlander back on Friday and clinching a playoff berth as they continue on another winning streak, and shrink their magic number to clinch the AL West to just five. Grant and Caleb close out the segment and the show by discussing what's ahead for the Atlanta Braves.
