For only the fourth? time ever, I put out one podcast a month for an entire calendar year of this podcast. !WOW! 2023 was a great year for myself and music. Better than I has planned. I started with a lot of motivation and kept it up all year. I really impressed myself this time :)

The December mix for 2023 is another one from Orlando with a good amount of tracks from artists I've seen playing in town lately like OnDaMike, DJ Icey, and Stanton Wariors. I can say I don't always love this sound, but when I am here in Orlando, I 100% am feeling it. Something about all the sunshine and palm trees just makes that bass hit right. This new school breaks mix still has tracks dating back over ten year up to the present, but its all got that fresh florida sound. Hope you can PUMP THE BASS!!!

This mix is a Part Two to my episode 117 from December 2021. Yes, I've been working on it since I started working on that set, so going on three years. This months mix is a lot of low-fi 12" rips that I grouped together because they were absolute bangers, but were very hard to put in to other sets with better recording quality. Almost none of these could have fit with 117, even though both are vintage mixes with tracks from the mid 90s to MAYBE 2002. 

All of the time it took to get together the right tracks for this mix was worth it, and the months it took to organize them in to a sequence I felt really worked with them paid off. I have put so much time in to this set that by the time I mixed it, the whole thing had already been in my head for over a year. Part of my creative process is loading all the songs in to my head, and letting them sort themselves out over time. I'm thankful I can take so much time to put a set together for myself, and I hope you really can enjoy it too. 

I tried to keep with the vibes for the cover art an made something straight out of the 90's. The picture is new  - from the AAHZ reunion party at The Beacham theater in Orlando this year the night before Thanksgiving - Kimball Collins was playing at the time. I feel like this could totally have been a CD cover for a cheap but totally banging CD mix from 1995 - 1998.

I have had a crazy couple months of being on the road! This mix has been done for almost two weeks but I havent gotten around to putting it up until now. Saw so many friends, drove so many places. Looking forwards to doing more of the same in a different part of the country soon. Road trips are good for the soul! Originally I had so much to say, but I decided to just  leave that for the music.

Gearing up this month for a HOT summer!!! Excited to be dropping a hot breakz mix like this in the middle of the hottest summer on record - yes we are all DOOMED!!! But we can still dance and be happy, it's all we CAN do sometimes. This mix is full of throwback samples, hardkore breakz, BIG BASS, and 100% Pure Florida FLAVA.

I mixed this one a little different from usual, so a lot of tracks have intro and outro edits to make it all flow. The tracks really bang in on it.

I was very excited to throw down online at DragonStomp this month. Admittedly I havent popped up on Twitch since Warstomp in 2020.... but this set was worth the wait for me. Plus my new(er) laptop could handle a ton of video mashups plus camera feed at the same time. This live set is real solid rave / breakz. From the old skool to the new skool and then back again - I really had a blast throwing this set down. 2023 Jan Everything but Missing (Almost)

All came about after reading on an online chat relating to the release of the 1st single of Everything But The Girl forthcoming album (after 24 years of silence), that they were a “one hit wonder”.

Rather than engage with the idiot, thought it would be a better proposition to mix and edit House is a Journey favourite EBTG tunes (except “Missing” though it is sort of there), remixes and bootlegs,  as well as featuring their latest tune and the first unofficial booty remixes.

An EBTG refresher for said idiot..

Certainly not exhaustive and 100% subjective, yet it contains an acoustic part, the DnB and Dance flavours, and obviously, the House and Break Beats dimension which is integral to their post indie sound (was it called indie back then?).

Recorded a mix during lock down to free my thoughts after a day of intensity. Strange times, living during a worldwide pandemic. We are so lucky to have internet and ways to connect with each other despite being far and isolated from each other. Did you know that in 1918 the human population went through something similar? It was called the Spanish flu. Feeling blessed to live in current times vs back then, as we have better medical knowledge and way cooler technology.
