    Lessons Not Learned

The summer is over, and for our young heirs and heiresses that means returning to school. Money doesn’t guarantee popularity, especially when even the wealthy resent the wealthier.

Doris Duke, Barbara Hutton, Huntington Hartford, and Jakey Astor all return to their individual private and boarding schools. Isolated and alone, the heirs and heiresses must contend with their disapproving classmates. Frank Shields plans to transfer to a Connecticut private school near Barbara, and Louise Van Alen preps for her ongoing debutante activities.

Other people and subjects include: Brearley, St. Paul’s in Concord NH, Miss Porter’s in Farmington CT, Roxbury School, Cheshire Academy, St. Georges in Newport, elite education, private school, old money vs. new money, famous alumni, and a summer school experience in Rhode Island.

Locally Owned, Locally Operated w/ Leticia Skai Young

Leticia Skai Young of, Lolo’s Seafood Shack, joins me on this episode of Stages to discuss creating a brand, expanding and growing a business, instilling confidence in a team, and what it’s like to work with your husband.
Who do you know who would benefit from a meeting with me to help them through the transitions in their life? Have them email or call me at Emily.Grace@Bernstein.com or 212-756-1951. I’ve helped people through many acts by helping them plan and invest in a straightforward and values driven manner. I will ask them some questions and then we’ll sit down to talk about what they should be doing given their current stage in life.
