You can watch the scene HERE. Jessica and Alyson discuss crying and how they are both “criers.” This scene covers all different types of emotions and tears and they get teared up just talking about it. It’s a masterful scene that is ultimately about the complicated landscape of trauma and love. And to be honest, it’s a fun conversation with lots of laughter. Join us!

Episode 0062: Alec Apologizes to Everyone but the College Football Playoff Committee

Episode 0062: Alec Apologizes to Everyone but the College Football Playoff Committee

Alec is very upset about FSU not making the college football playoff, and he takes it out on Bama graduate Lindsey. In fact, he takes it out on a lot of people, including the entire Southeast region and husky owners. The Nuts discuss the financial interests and media organizations involved in college football. Other topics include the new Indiana Jones, Brie Larson, and the MCU.

Episode 0061: We Watched Love Has Won So You Don’t Have To.

Episode 0061: We Watched Love Has Won So You Don’t Have To.

David and Lindsey watched the Love Has Won documentary on HBO Max, and it has taken over their lives. They discuss the documentary, its shocking subject matter, and why Alec shouldn’t watch it. The Nuts then discuss cognitive dissonance and why people stay in cults, as well as how they could form their own cult. Other topics include college football,  Thanksgiving horror, the Eras Tour on streaming, and the failure of F1 in Vegas. Finally and appropriately, the Nuts discuss Karens.

Kamala Khan and the Booty Flaps
It's taken us a while to find the laptops, the microphones--I don't think we actually found those--find the duct tape and the glitter and the cosplay outfits with the black and the white and the booty flaps that SWORD has...but somehow, we did it! That's right. A brand-spankin'-new episode coming right at your earholes for the first time in over a year! You could even call it our annual show!!! But please don't call it that. It makes us sad in our hearts to think that it took over a year to make up from the fight we had last time while writing the episode synopsis. (Check out the episode synopsis from our October 3rd 2022 show! That'll tell you right there why it's taken so long to get back in the saddle! And what a saddle it is! This episode we fly further, and higher, and faster, and holding hands, and switching places, with light, and glitter, and French braids, and black girl magic to really get to the heart of the cinematic masterpiece that is "The Marvels." Now, I know what you are thinking...could those guys ever do justice to such a tremendous piece of art and culture and history? Let me assure you, we are actually cultured now. We took the last 12 to 14 months with our pinkies raised and our noses stuck firmly in the upward direction. We CAN evaluate this cinematic adventure. And boy, do we!! The Tudor Dixon Podcast: Is Disney's Wokeness Killing the Magic?

In this episode, Tudor discusses the recent issues faced by The Walt Disney Company and criticizes their approach towards customers. She believes that Disney's problems stem from a disconnect with their audience and accuses them of becoming too politically correct. Tudor also criticizes Hollywood actors for using their platforms to express political opinions, arguing that it negatively impacts the entertainment industry. She suggests that if actors' behavior results in financial losses, they should be held accountable. Dixon also expresses concerns about Disney's content, accusing them of incorporating inappropriate content into their films. She questions Disney CEO Bob Iger's leadership and emphasizes the importance of focusing on entertainment rather than activism.

MARVEL, AGENTS OF SHIELD, HAWKEYE und SECRET INVASION.

    "The Marvels"

    "The Marvels"
This week, Derek, Amir, and Jeff review Nia DaCosta's The Marvels, the 33rd entry in a flagging Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the three leads of Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani, it's certainly aiming higher, further, and faster. But is it another Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Or is it another Quantumania? We discuss.

The Marvels (2023) - The Silver Screen Project

The Marvels (2023) - The Silver Screen Project

The most marvellous time of the year has arrived - the release of Marvel's newest movie, 'The Marvels.' Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and [Insert Superhero Name Here] join forces to combat a hammer-wielding adversary (not the one you're thinking of), all the while discovering more about each other and themselves.

How does this fare against the middling quality of recent MCU movies? Do they bother to explain Captain Marvel's three-decade absence? Is this the most comic book-y superhero movie in years? Tune in to find out!

Episode 0060: Hollywood Is Back in Business, but the MCU Is Not

Of course, the Nuts are excited about Thanksgiving Break, and they have strong opinions about last-minute class meeting times. The main conversation covers the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, and what it means for the future of streaming. David and Alec went to see The Marvels so you don’t have to. The Nuts try to figure out where the MCU goes from here (the answer may be Deadpool). The rest of the conversation focuses on Letterkenny, Shorsey, hockey, and Canadian comedies, eh.
