Podcast: Dover restaurant owner calling for cameras to help tackle problem parking

A restaurant owner in Dover says potential customers are being left with nowhere to park because people are leaving their cars in spaces for days at a time.

He's calling for ANPR cameras to be installed to weed out problem parkers.

Also in today's podcast, there's grim predictions that we could see three years of Operation Brock on the M20 when the new Entry/Exit systems are introduced at the Port of Dover and Eurotunnel.

The post-Brexit checks will be put in place in October, sparking fears of 14 hour backlogs and traffic chaos.

A mum from Ramsgate has stepped in to save the life of a stranger she found injured and bleeding in the street.

Despite having no first-aid training, she was able to perform CPR and kept the victim alive until paramedics arrived.

A former church youth worker from Sandwich has been snapped on camera snatching precious jewellery during a break-in at a neighbour's home.

The dad-of-six had been using the house to hide from bailiffs when he "succumbed to temptation".

And in football, you can hear from Maidstone manager George Elokobi  after their win over Stevenage in the FA Cup.

The one - nil victory puts them through to the fourth round for the first time in history.

Victim Support NZ: What Kiwis can do if they've been burgled

Victim Support NZ: What Kiwis can do if they've been burgled

Despite it being quite a common crime, burglary victims can experience serious mental health impacts.

A home in the Wellington suburb of Southgate was recently targeted and a man experienced serious injuries trying to restrain the alleged offender.

Victim Support says it's a hugely violating crime to experience and claims it takes about eight months on average for burglary victims to feel safe in their homes again.

Victim Support New Zealand spokesperson Petrina Hargrave says a number of reactions are normal.

She says there's definitely a sense of anger, mistrust, isolation, fear, and anxiety -- and it's very normal to be jumpy afterwards.

    13. Lawyers Then and Now. 9 A.D. and 2022

    13. Lawyers Then and Now. 9 A.D. and 2022

My siblings and I contacted a legal firm after seeing a class action suit advertisement. We were hosed.  I tie in the annihilation of three Roman legions in 9 A.D. by Germanic tribes due in no small part to mistreatment by Roman lawyers.  I end with a  lawyer friend's humorous non-fiction tale of his nakedness and a burglar. Guess who got screwed!
