How important is branding to you?

How important is branding to you?

Branding has evolved from a focus on visibility and consumer-facing communication to an art and corporate strategy. Logos, labels, and taglines are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to branding today. Consumers are demanding more, and producers are doing their best to meet these demands and build brand patronage and loyalty. From branded eggs, to premiumization of products, producers are now evolving as corporate brands.

Take charge in cage-free egg production

Since several players in the Horeca industry in Asia have expressed their commitment to source cage-free eggs only, producers in the region are preparing to meet demand.

Asian Agribiz learns from Dietmar Tepe, Managing Director of KAT, the German Association for Controlled Alternative Animal Husbandry that provides a testing system for eggs from alternative husbandry systems, that shifting to cage-free egg production is “not as easy as turning the palm of the hand”.

But early birds will reap more benefits. Therefore, Mr Tepe suggests that producers be brave and drive this growing trend.

In this podcast, he offers advice to egg producers in the region who plan to transition.

Health challenges to consider before going cage-free

Farm management in cage-free egg production is more complicated. When it comes to flock health, producers should implement the right disease prevention and control program.

In this podcast with Asian Agribiz, Fernando Carrasquer, Global Technical Service and Veterinary Specialist at H&N International identifies the main diseases and behavioral problems to lookout for.

Dr Carrasquer also shares strategies to improve farm biosecurity and flock immunity.
