Get Inspired by Meg with Meg Knight

Get Inspired by Meg with Meg Knight

Welcome to episode 30 of the Today is the Day Changemakers Podcast. This week my guest is Meg Knight.  Please note this episode was also done via a FB Live at the time of taping.

Professionally, Meg is a graphic designer and designs primarily for B2B publishing companies focusing on editorial design.

Personally, Meg has a 7 year old son and a husband of 14 years. Meg has now battled breast cancer for the second time and is living with a brain tumor call meningioma. You can learn a lot more about Meg’s journey via her Get Inspired By Meg blog
(https://getinspiredbymeg.wordpress.com/), and follow her on FB and Instagram. She has openly shared her journey via social media to help others and also to normalize, what feels very different and isolating.

There is a lot of information shared about Meg's journey in this episode, but she shares it with such grace and spirit. This is not an episode about illness. This is an episode about resilience, perseverance, and how mindset matters.

As of the launch of this episode, Meg has completed all of her treatment. Meg and her son, Ryan did these fun TikTok dances celebrating her treatment milestones together. Ryan even created the monumental wink at the end of the dance that everyone loved. Nick Carter from the Back Street Boys loved it too, as he liked one of Meg's TikTok dance posts.

As you can imagine, at just 7 years old, Ryan had a lot to deal with knowing that Mom had health challenges.  In the interview you will hear how he shared with Meg that he worries about her sometimes in the morning or at night and would cry on his own. He kept that from her as to not upset her. That is a special love shared between a mother and a son. I can honestly say it was hard not to need a tissue after hearing that during the interview.

Meg’s hope is to inspire others in whatever life challenges are thrown at them. To know that they have choices and that setbacks are sometimes setups for what’s next in life. Remember we are all stronger than we think!

During this episode, we laugh, we tear up, and we get real about how fragile life truly is. This is a great lesson on the importance of not sweating the small stuff and showing gratitude for every day we are given.

Thank you to Meg for sharing a very personal story that I know will help many others feel that they are not alone!

Listen in to Meg share her response to, if I knew then what I know now!

Next week my guest is Marion Chamberlain. Marion is the Founder and President, Chamberlain Leadership. Marion is one of the most creative people I know. She is truly a fabulous leadership and business strategist. Marion shares about her childhood and some incredible things that brought her to the work she is doing today.  I am grateful to know and work with Marion. You will not want to miss this episode!
