    What Should You Focus on When Taking Over a New Team? with Bob Lanham

    Taking over a new team, be it internally for your company or coming in from the outside. What should you as the new leader focus on? What mistakes do you need to avoid? How do you overcome pre-conceived notions of you as a manager?

    This is one of the toughest job out there. Bob Lanham, who left Meta to join CarNow, a software company in the automotive industry, shares what he felt and had to overcome during this transition.

    A very honest and intense conversation with a lot of tactical strategies for all of us to take away.

    About Bob Lanham 

    Bob Lanham joined CarNow in September of 2022 as Senior Vice President of Retail
    Development. Bob’s responsibilities include oversight of CarNow’s Manufacture
    relations and National accounts, industry relations, partnering with their product team to develop new offerings, as well as, working with their marketing team to drive awareness of both CarNow and their offerings.

    Bob has a rich digital/tech history previously being the Head of Automotive Retail at
    Meta where he was responsible for driving advertising and partnership demand for
    Meta’s apps globally. Bob also opened the Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania territory
    for Hulu when Hulu just launched. Prior to Hulu, Bob spent four years at Yahoo! and
    three years at Microsoft.

    Bob started his automotive career at Toyota of Sarasota selling cars as a commission only sales representative before becoming the Internet Sales Manager and F&I Manager. He’s a graduate of Elon University, husband and father to three children ages 17, 15 and 11.
