Joined in the studio today your host Chris Walker is joined by his CBS Sports colleague, Brent Stover. Like Chris, Brent is a former college athlete turned commentator. He ran cross country and track for head coach Cliff Rovelto at Kansas State. Brent’s commentary career has taken him to Botswana for the World’s Strongest Man competition, 2002 Super Bowl, sideline for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and St. Louis Cardinal. If that wasn’t enough for a resume, Brent is also a Country Music singer! But he got his start commentating by recording his self on cassette in his parents basement! They discuss how men and women can compete equally in this sport, but what about in basketball? Yes there is the WNBA but don't you think a woman can play in the NBA?

Chris and Brent discuss go on to discuss: the difficulties of sport commentary, what it takes to make it in the business and how they were both inspired by the great commentator Brent Musburger! Tune in now!

Today on the Big Big East we have the scout for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Anton Marchand. Anton is a former NYC Nike Consultant and founder of the Conrad McRae League. He discusses his early basketball career in high school and college. Playing for both Stan and Bill Vangundy. Unfortunately his pro career didn't go as planned. He did however land a job with music executive “Steve Stoute” and helped his legendary sister, Hip-Hop Artist, “Foxy Brown” to get her music career on track. One of the true influencers for the sport of  basketball has joined us today on the Big Big East. The one and only Gary Charles is in the studio. If you didn't  know,  Gary Charles is the former director of ABCD Basketball. ABCD was a basketball camp in Teaneck New Jersey created by Sonny Vaccaro and sponsored by adidas. It was this very camp that is responsible for getting KOBE BRYANT to the league! Now he is the founder of ABIS (Advancement Of Blacks in Sports)  and the CEO OF The Las Vegas Big Time Tournament.  Tune in and hear Gary’s amazing story!

We are joined today with former NBA PG Andre Barrett! Andre Barrett has had an amazing career in basketball. He started at the age of 9. With no program for his age, he would have to play with kids 2 years and up. As a player in the 7th grade, Andre would take a two buses and a train from The Bronx to Harlem. Andre went on to attend Rice High School and started on Varsity as an senior. Ranked as number 1 player in the country before attending Seton Hall. He would go on to play for 13 years in the NBA. This week we are joined by CBS Sports  Jon Rothstien, the host of College Hoops Today with Jon Rothstein. Jon talks about his early freelancing days covering High School Basketball to eventually  working at ESPN Radio.  Jon tried to get into sports commentary but found it difficult when trying to find advertisers for his radio  show after graduating college . He remembers a car dealership owner asking if Joe Torre was going to be on the show and declined advertising with him because he wasn’t! John discusses what the Big East conference is today and how it is not the powerhouse it once was. Chris begs to differ! Tune in!
