Crushing OCD: Workbook for Kids: Author interview with Natasha Daniels

It was a pleasure to have Natasha Daniels as a return guest on this podcast to talk about her new book Crushing OCD: Workbook Kids.  This book is going to be an excellent resource for families and therapists trying to help children with OCD. One of strengths of this book is that it lays out in very digestible units the sequence of steps needed in order to "crush OCD". It is also no small feat the language in this book is very child friendly but always respectful.

050 Parenting Children with OCD with Natasha Daniels

Natasha Daniels,  who is a therapist who specializes in childhood anxiety and OCD joins me on this episode.  Consider this OCD 101 as it will give you valuable information and understanding about what symptoms to watch for, what specific treatments to get and how to parent a child with OCD.

Watch for patterns of behaviors and thought patterns.  Watch for a need to do things in a certain way, in a certain order or a need to be in control of certain things.   Look for a specifically OCD trained therapist who practices ERP therapy.  If your therapist doesn't do ERP and hasn't been specifically trained, find someone else who is.

As parents we are the ones who can make the most difference in the healing if we learn and grow and understand how to parent a child with OCD.  Natasha is a fantastic resource for parents, between her Instagram account, podcast, YouTube channel and her parenting courses, you have such great tools to learn how to really help our kids with anxiety and OCD.   The cost of her courses is accessible to all and her goal is to really empower parents.
