Monsters, Inc.
Episode Summary
Join Erin and Rachel on the Scare Floor for a discussion of Monsters, Inc. (2001). The impressive animation, clever world building, strong performances, and high joke density adequately compensate for some outdated fatphobic, classist, and misogynist beats. Under director Pete Docter, Pixar has officially hit their stride with this critically acclaimed box office smash.

Maxy's Trip to the Farm
Once upon a time, there was a cute little puppy named Maxy. He had big brown eyes and a fluffy tail. Maxy had always dreamt about the farm and the animals that lived there, so when his family decided to take a trip to the farm, he was ecstatic.
At the farm, Maxy saw cows, pigs, sheep, and even his friend Daisy the horse. He said "Daisy! It's so good to see you again!" Daisy replied "Maxy! I'm so glad you could come visit me on the farm." Maxy got to pet her and feed her, it was a dream come true for him. Maxy was having the time of his life.
But as he was exploring the farm, Maxy got lost and couldn't find his way back to his family. He said "Oh no, I'm lost. I don't know how to find my way back." Daisy reassured him "Don't worry, Maxy. I'll help you find your way back."
As they were searching, Maxy met the farmer and said "Excuse me, sir. I'm lost and I'm trying to find my way back to my family." The farmer replied "Well, well. Don't worry little pup, I'll help you. Daisy here is a great guide, she knows the farm like the back of her hoof."
With Daisy's help and the farmer's guidance, Maxy was able to find his way back to his family. Maxy was overjoyed and hugged his family tightly. He said "Thank you so much Daisy, you're the best!" Daisy replied "Anytime, Maxy. That's what friends are for."
Maxy learned that it's important to always have friends you can rely on and trust. He also learned that even when things don't go as planned, we can always find a way to make things better with the help of our friends. From then on, Maxy made sure to always pay attention to his surroundings and not wander off too far. He also made sure to always follow safety rules, so he could have more fun and adventures like this one.

Also, even though the social media hype has died down, protests have lessened in frequency and it's no longer "trending"; discrimination based on race is still an issue in our country. In fact in addition to our usual link to BLM we are supplying links to organizations that seek to help with the problems of violence against the Asian American and Pacific Islander populace, violence that has only unfortunately skyrocketed within the COVID-19 Pandemic.
