In terms of hours listened, video game music probably wins for every generation that came of age with a game console in the house. It's no surprise then that new artists use video game music as a starting point for their work - not merely remixing or imitating but building upon it. On this episode we listen to two fantastic video game inspired albums and discuss our own experiences with video game soundtracks. Stay Awhile and Listen!

    Episode 10: Chiptunes!!

    Episode 10: Chiptunes!!
Episode 10: For this episode, I have collected five upbeat chiptunes for you. What are chiptunes? A chiptune is synthesized music often produced with the sound chips of old computer and video game consoles, which means that a lot of the music was made on Game Boys. That's pretty cool! The songs in this episode are "General Error" by 047, "Baby Still Too Fat" by Starship Amazing, "Cheeky Girls Fast Food" by cerror, "Retrotune" by Souleye, and "Hexadecimal Genome" by Bit Shifter.
