    Chris has a deep passion for developing leaders and planting life-giving churches. He co-founded ARC (Association of Related Churches), which has launched hundreds of churches across the United States and world.     Chris and his wife, Tammy, have five children and 8 grandchildren and live in Birmingham, Alabama where they still root for the LSU Tigers.

    Pastor Layne Schranz has been on staff as an associate pastor at Church of the Highlands, one of our nation's most influential churches, since May 2001. His family moved to Birmingham from Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he spent several years working as the president of one of the nation’s most successful towing companies and volunteering as a youth pastor at New Life Church. Once Pastor Layne arrived at Highlands, he pioneered Highland’s Student Ministries program as well as the Highlands Leadership Institute, which eventually became Highlands College. He also served as Highlands' first video campus pastor, which paved the way for their church’s multi-site approach. Pastor Layne currently oversees multiple areas of ministry at Highlands. He and his wife, Rachel, have been married since 1996 and have two daughters, Ashlyn and Devyn.
