Perko's Podcast Episode 032, Part Two: Creating a Life Manifesto w/ Sidhara Udalagama

    Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!

Well, today on the podcast we are doing something a little bit different than we would usually do. Part of what I do beyond recording podcasts is coaching leaders through various exercises that help them to reach their goals without losing their souls. My friend Sidhara Udalagama was kind enough to let me facilitate one of these exercises for her called a Life Manifesto. A life manifesto is the exercise of prayer and thought to develop wording around how you want to live your one and only life. I thought that since we are approaching a new year when most of us typically evaluate and set goals for the next 365 days that this would be a great exercise to share with you.

My friend Sid is an amazing speaker, creative and corporate consultant. Sid grew up in Sri Lanka but spent her adult years in England working in full time ministry after graduating with an MSc in Occupational Psychology.  Sid is currently working with Compassion Australia which is a fantastic organisation and you will hear more about her work shortly.

Sid is passionate about people fulfilling their God given potential in this world and becoming all that they were created to be. Both her roles in the church and corporate world enable her to outwork this passion. She is a powerful and gifted communicator of God’s Word and loves that the Bible has the power to change lives.

Sidhara is married to her husband Dev and enjoys eating, traveling the world and repeating those two things... preferably together.

Perko's Podcast Episode 031: Soul Care During the Holidays

    Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!

Today is a very special edition of the podcast just in time for the holidays. Maybe you are already feeling stressed about the holiday season...maybe you feel tension with family members, anxiety about travelings, or pressure to get someone the perfect gift. But what would happen if we prioritized our soul during the holiday season and that allowed us to love others well? Today my good friend Duncan Banks took over the hosting mic to interview me about soul care during the holidays. I hope that this episode blessed you and those you come into contact with this season.

Perko's Podcast Episode 029: How to Recruit a Team of Leaders to Reach Your Goals w/ John Finkelde Part Two

    Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!

Well today, I am excited to introduce you to John Finkelde.

John pastored at C3 Church Hepburn Heights in Perth Western Australia for 30 years.  Now before you get nervous, if you are not a church leader, everything that John shares in this conversation is relevant to leading a business, school, not for profit, any organisation, so stick around!

In 2012 John launched Grow a Healthy Church, a consulting and coaching ministry for churches and pastors around the globe. Since then John has conducted over 140 on-site consults in 10 different church movements in Australia, NZ, UK and Europe.

John has two aims when consulting with an organisation.

     1. Clarity - John brings clear and proven next steps that will improve an organisations health.

     2. Boost - John understands the pressures of leadership and seeks to boost the hope and courage of leaders.

John has been married to Dianne for 42 years, with two married children and four glorious grandsons. In his spare time John loves shooting things (photography that is), thrashing around in the surf, playing his guitar and watching sport.

John has written 6 books, has an MA (Lead) and a Diploma in Professional Coaching. His most recent resource, which is a main topic of our conversation today, is 27 Ways to Build a Leadership Pipeline which I believe can be so beneficial to leaders who are trying to equip other leaders.

I hope you enjoy this conversation with my friend, John Finkelde…

Perko's Podcast Episode 026: Becoming Emotionally Healthy w/ Pete Scazzero

Perko's Podcast Episode 026: Becoming Emotionally Healthy w/ Pete Scazzero

    Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!

Today on the podcast is someone that I greatly admire, who has helped shape me, and really has been a foundational part of the reason I started this podcast. My guest today is the Soul Care legend himself, Pete Scazzero.

I first came across Pete’s work through his book the Emotionally Healthy Leader.  Since then I have been through the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality and Relationships content, I’ve been a part of some leadership cohorts with Pete and ultimately it has shaped much of my experience in this area of Soul Care. When I first came across his work, I was very unhealthy emotionally and although I am still a novice in this space God has used it to literally transform my life.  Well for those of you who are not as familiar with Pete Scazzero let me introduce him to you.

Pete lead New Life Fellowship Church for 26 years in Queens NY where they are still members. He also co-founded Emotionally Healthy Discipleship, which is a phenomenal program that I highly recommend. Emotionally Healthy Discipleship is a groundbreaking ministry that moves the church forward by slowing the church down in order to multiply deeply changed leaders and disciples.

Pete hosts the top-ranked Emotionally Healthy Leader podcast and is the author of a number of bestselling books, including The Emotionally Healthy Leader and Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Pete and his wife Geri also developed The Emotionally Healthy Discipleship Course (Part 1 and 2), a powerful resource that moves people from a shallow to a deep relationship with Jesus.

I hope you enjoy this conversation with my friend, Pete Scazzero…
