You are not crushed when you depend on your faith - Friday Faith Foundations

You are not crushed when you depend on your faith - Friday Faith Foundations

The demands of owning a business and living life, especially with a family, can be overwhelming. Over time, you may feel burned out or, at a minimum, overwhelmed. But you will not be crushed.

When you depend on your faith and lean into the supernatural powers of the Holy Spirit, you are not crushed. You may experience demands from every angle, and you may be criticized or judged, but you will not be destroyed. You can't be if you have Christ at the forefront.

    Depend on your faith.

In 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 Paul tells us, "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." This is such a powerful reminder that when we have faith in Christ as our savior, we can overcome. We can navigate all experiences through the power of our helper, the Holy Spirit.

Now, I'm not saying it's easy. No, Christ didn't call us to an easy life, we must work hard and dedicate ourselves to Him and our work. We will experience bumps in the road, and sometimes we will feel stuck in trenches of muck and mire.

But if we depend on our faith, and lean into Him as our savior, we will not be crushed.

Depend on your faith to fulfill your calling

In 2 Peter 1:3-11, we are again reminded that we have divine power within us. Peter writes about how we can confirm our calling.

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, try to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Friday Faith Foundations - There will always be hope if you believe

Friday Faith Foundations - There will always be hope if you believe

Hope by definition is a confident expectation that something (or someone) good will be part of your future.

What have you been hoping for? Maybe your biggest hopes and dreams have not come to fruition, yet. But it's important to remember that there will always be hope if you believe.

    A story about hope

As you may know, I launched the Success Without Social Media Mastermind last week. To say it didn't go as planned is an understatement. I felt a lack of hope for my business and the offer I thought was going to be well received. I wanted to be angry and sad. For a moment or two, I even told God how upset I was that He hadn't made the launch a success. After all, I'd done everything I knew to do to market it and I'd prayed for his blessing upon it.

Instead of staying mad at God, I decided to dive into scripture and see what He had to say about the experience. Every verse I read for the next two days was about strength, hope, and perseverance.  I wanted to give up but he was emphatically telling me not to.

Upon journaling about what I'd read and heard from Him, I discovered a few things. I am sharing this experience with you because I think it's super important to be real and share that not everything goes the way we want it to.

    What I learned about hope

I've always been someone who hopes a lot and believes that absolutely anything is possible with God. Philippians 4:13 has been on repeat in my mind for years - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Likewise, In Mark 10:27 we are reminded by Jesus that “With man, this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

These two verses remind us that there will always be hope if you believe. But here's the reality. Just because we want something, doesn't mean that is what is best for us or what God has planned for us. It doesn't mean there is no longer hope, it means that what I was hoping for wasn't the right thing for me (or you) at this time.

And often, God uses experiences like this to teach us a lesson. I was indeed in need of a lesson last week. By diving into scripture and listening to what God had to say, I realized that I was following the recommendations of humans, not God. I was depending on what my coaches had told me, not on what my intuition and God were telling me.

Doing what my coaches have been doing and teaching me about isn't aligned with me or the purpose God has for me - right now. In addition, I wasn't trusting Him, I was trying to control what happened in my business instead of letting Him guide me. If my launch had been a huge success I would have proven I, like all the big-wig coaches online, could have a six-figure launch. But that isn't me. It isn't my priority. And it also wasn't what God was calling me to do.

Friday Faith Foundations - Do Not Be Discouraged

Friday Faith Foundations - Do Not Be Discouraged

September. A month of new beginnings. School either started or is starting, mounds of paperwork, after-school activities and games, and a business to run. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged.

But you my friend, have a choice. You can choose to not be discouraged and to look at September as the new January and get inspired. Or, the other option, let the overwhelm cause you to overthink and procrastinate. But if you lean into your faith as you move through this busy season, you'll be able to do the work and bring glory to God.

Do not be discouraged, strength is available

We can look to Joshua 1:9 for strength this month, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Your days may lead you into unknown territory and an escalation of stress, but you have a choice. Do not be discouraged, for God will give you the strength you need.

In fact, now is the best time to start taking big action in your business. To be bold and courageous and step into your purpose with more fervor and energy than ever before.

Refer to September as the new January - it's the perfect time to look back on the year and do an evaluation

    Evaluate:

    • What has worked and what hasn’t worked?
    • Are there areas that you need to put more effort into?
    • Do you need and want to delegate activities that don’t fulfill you or that you are not an expert at?
    • Where can you eliminate things that aren’t serving you?
    • What systems and tools can you get rid of because you aren’t using them?
    • How can you change or update your messaging to give your audience more clarity?
    • What can you do to create more demand without adding more stress?
    • Can you implement a new visibility strategy?
    • Where can you simplify to decrease the overwhelm as you move into the 4th quarter?
    • What can you automate, what are you doing repeatedly that you could create and implement a process for?
    • Have you met all your 2023 goals? If not, can you identify why and what you need to do in the next 4 months to achieve them?
    • How much time are you spending on social media? Remember, you can grow your business without social media if it's causing you stress.
