The Wall of Deconstruction w/ Kevin Wilson, TikTok's CEO of Chai

The Wall of Deconstruction w/ Kevin Wilson, TikTok's CEO of Chai
In our first four episodes we talked about relational challenges across generational lines, religious and intellectual arrogance, and the division that comes from taking our religious practices further and further from the Way of Jesus.

In this episode we're joined by one of TikTok's most beloved creators of faith - Kevin Wilson. Together, we explore one of today's most contentious subjects - deconstruction.

Is deconstruction as scary as it's made out to be?

Is doubt a threat to faith or a vital tool for developing it?

How does questioning threaten our sense of security, and why do we often encounter so much backlash when we ask big questions?

We cover all that and more in this episode of Bridges Over Walls! Special thanks to @crossculturekev for joining us.

    It Goes With You

    It Goes With You

God created the world and established its boundaries and rules for living in every area of life. The justice system we have today was at some time largely based on biblical law. The laws that are being overturned today for the most part are laws that Christians spent centuries implementing. The Christian worldview is comprehensive and speaks to every topic. It is as true and authoritative today as it was thousands of years ago.

068 | Should Christian Women Watch Redeeming Love?

068 | Should Christian Women Watch Redeeming Love?
As the new Redeeming Love movie comes out January 21st, Phylicia talks through three theological cautions for Christians watching the movie and reading the book, as well as seven questions to ask before recommending it to others.

She also reads the testimonials of young women who share their stories of sexual addiction sparked by the Christian romance novel industry.

    Becoming Interruptible with Deidre Braley

Deidre Braley is a Title 1 teacher and instructional strategist at an elementary school in Maine. She enjoys leisurely breakfasts, throwing dinner parties, and writing for her blog The Second Cup. She also writes for Truly Magazine.

In this episode, Deidre talks with Truly Co Podcast host Lindsay May about how she manages to stay afloat in the midst of family hardships and working full-time. In Truly Magazine’s Intentionality issue, Deidre’s article “Let’s Become Interruptible” outlines how Jesus always took time to love people first and set his checklists aside. What does this look like for us today, living in a culture that glorifies “hustle” and progress? Deidra reflects on how God uses things he creates through us to teach us. We must pause to prioritize what God values.

Deidre also describes her experience in attending a Truly Magazine content call and the process of working with Truly’s editorial team in fine-tuning her article for print. Shabbat Saved My Life!

    Shabbat Saved My Life!

Episode 29 – Shabbat Saved My Life!

How is Shabbat different from Sunday? WHAT is it?

Personal experience had been rejection in church or after-effects of ministry that felt like being run over by a Mack truck! Yet, Heavenly Father called Shabbat a “delight” and “a sign between Me and you.”

To an agrarian culture, He said, “Even in harvest, you must rest,” (Exodus 34:12). Even in SPIRITUAL harvest, you must rest! Ministers don't get rest on Sundays.

Christianity as a lifestyle worked for the early church. So much in Christian-culture now is off-base from Father’s original design.

With the Puritan work ethic, an agrarian lifestyle, or exciting spiritual ministry, there is no stopping point—and that alone will deteriorate your health.

Discovering what Shabbat is, and taking steps to implement it, is key to your sustained health and well-being. In a 20/20 world, now more than ever!
