We're a culture of people raised to go and get it! To constantly strive, to seek, to yearn, to hope for things. We're workers and dreamers. We're not a culture devoted to the concept — or experience — of arriving.

But, Christmas — and this applies whether you celebrate it or not — is all about the energy of arriving.

We call the birth of a new baby an "arrival".  We celebrate the hell out of it. You and I were once that celebrated arrival ... then we got on the hamster wheel we call life.

So, how to strive & seek and make things happen, while also allowing ourselves to submerge in the powerful energy of arrival? That's what today's conversation is all about.

In this episode we talked about our vision for Houses With Hope and the direction that we are going now and in 2021.

Well if you've been to stores around the united states, we're starting to see that it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go. Christmas tree, Christmas ornaments, things to start buying... the people are already giving in a frenzy to get deals and to get sales.

Did you know that every year, American spends 1 Trillion Dollars on Christmas? Did you know that on average, parents spend $433 per child?

Did you also know people spend $35 on their pets to give them a Christmas gift? It's insane what we do. When there's people around the world who don't have enough to eat, they don't have clean water, they don't have medical care. So I want you to consider something this year and that's flipping this whole thing to change it from a season of giving to season of giving.

The Teacher and the Preacher is a weekly radio program--hosted by Dave McGarrah, Senior Pastor at Deer Flat Church in Caldwell, Idaho, and Aaron Lipkin from Israel--that airs each Sunday at 10:30 am and 7:30 pm here on 94.1 The Voice KBXL and also on Sunday evenings at 5 pm on our sister station 790 KSPD.
