    Lead On Purpose pt2

Our special guest this week is Coach Lisa Petitte. Coach Petitte, has served as an educator in Chicago Public Schools as well as in Arkansas Public Schools as a teacher and coach. Along her coaching pathway, she's also coached collegiate basketball at division I & II levels as well as reaching the WNBA with her coaching and leadership talents. Coach Petitte's superpower is her ability to form relationships with her students and players that enable her to impact their hearts & lives as people as well as deliver the game of basketball to their minds. At the root of this ability is the skill of being intentional. As we seek to help you define what that looks like, take into consideration the awareness and sincerity you bring to every relationship you form with the people you lead. And keep it at the forefront of your thought processes that everything you do and say matters. The Tribe has also developed a collaborative course titled, The Captain's Course. The art of being intentional is an overarching fundamental to the course that will help you and your growing leaders create deeper connections, establish the needs of your people and how you can support that, and create a culture of servanthood. If you'd like more information about the course email us at tribehasspokenchief23@gmail.com.

Ep. 1: A Better Soccer Season Ahead | 5 Secrets To Motivating Your Players & Maximizing Their Potential

Ep. 1: A Better Soccer Season Ahead | 5 Secrets To Motivating Your Players & Maximizing Their Potential
In the opening episode of Between The Post your host Tyler Vaughan tackles one of the most impactful areas of coaching that often takes a backseat to other strategies. While it appears lower on the list of many coaches and organizations it is by far one of the most influential strategies we as coaches can leverage to impact the next generation of soccer players, especially goalkeepers!

After today's episode, we hope you gain further insight into player motivation, and more importantly, strengthen strategies that most coaches likely already do. As all coaches, parents, be it of goalkeepers or not know, a player's attitude likely dictates their performance and at times success. As Tyler walks you through his 5 tips he will provide both background and examples of how you can immediately take this information back to your teams, and immediately implement the changes you feel are needed to encourage player success.

Tyler offers a unique perspective fit for coaches of any level or player type to reflect on areas that we can all focus, grow, and improve. One of the first tips that you have already checked off your list by listening to this episode is acknowledging how critical player motivation really is to the success of individuals and teams in not only soccer but also sports of all types. Tyler encourages listeners to adopt his tips to fit the strengths you already have and consider a consistent, yet incremental approach to motivating players.

In anything we introduce over this season of Between The Post we encourage you to set personal goals that are attainable and realistic. All coaches, parents, and players have different backgrounds and familiarities with the game of soccer and what motivation can look like. Tyler makes a point to emphasize that for volutneers and parents specifically, he encourages you to reach out to any leading coach even if outside of the soccer pitch to gain relevant knowledge that you can relate to. Coaching strategies around player motivation prove that we can all learn from each other, even if across multiple sports if we maintain a common focus, player success.
