Tuning out the noise and turning up the confidence

Tuning out the noise and turning up the confidence

Being an assertive, head strong woman has not always been perceived well. I struggled for years trying to be less than who I am so other felt comfortable being in my presence. Until one day I realized it's not a "me" problem how I'm taken, but a "them" problem for how they choose to take me. I know who I am, I know what I stand for, and I know my intentions behind how I carry myself. In episode 18, I opened up about how I finally gave myself the space to not just love who I am but shine brighter than I ever have before.

Applying Coaching Tools to Your Work Teams, with Kevin Shtofman

YOUR FINEST HOUR | Leaders who receive individual coaching typically find that their personal growth from coaching extends into professional growth and how they manage their employees and train their teams. Novus Global Coach Jon Roberts interviews fellow coach David Gerber and his client Kevin Shtofman, COO of Commercial Real Estate data integration company, NavigatorCRE. Kevin talks about the “uncomfortable” growth conversations he had with David, inspiring him to initiate similarly uncomfortable, but ultimately transformative, conversations with his employees. Kevin shares that great mentors and great feedback were crucial to his success and explains how he learned to embrace feedback and seek out diversity of thought, culture and opinion. The group discusses fried food at the Texas State Fair, why transparency is so daunting, upgrading complaints and frustrations into developing your vision, and how to run offsites with teams that lead to long-term impact for your company.

Novus Global is a tribe of elite executive coaches who work with Fortune 500 Companies, Professional Athletes, World Renowned Artists and Business Leaders to create lives, teams and companies that go beyond high-performance.

Cultivating Meaningful Connections: How to Be Intentional with Those Around You with Dr. Elnur Gajiev

Cultivating Meaningful Connections: How to Be Intentional with Those Around You with Dr. Elnur Gajiev

Paige sits down with psychologist Dr. Elnur Gajiev to strives to give the people around him a sense of meaning within their lives. Mental health has always been a factor in his life and he hopes to empower those around him through his experiences.

As a child, Elnur and his family immigrated to the United States. This large change really impacted the way Dr. Elnur lived his life. He encountered many challenges as he moved from place to place and changed the way he lived his daily life. Many things came to light later in life as he realized all the challenges he went through. From moving across the world, experiencing a culture shock, adapting to a new area, and the many other things he and his family faced, completely changed the trajectory of his life. He did not have the resources and help to work through his mental health journey, but this allowed him to become an advocate for this journey for others. He has done this by working with children to empower them and help them work through the many things they may be feeling.

Life encompasses many different things. From reflection, wisdom, community, family, differences and much more. Within our lives, we form many relationships--some lasting longer than others--however we should be grateful for each and every one because life has many chapters. We all evolve, move on, move out, and transform into the people we meant to be. Our lives all have meaning, sometimes harder to find than other times. Mental health is important in each and every life, when we improve ourselves we then improve our mental health. Nobody is alone, we all have a community around us.

    We also talk about…

Episode #43: Consumerism, Free Will, & Billionaires

Episode #43: Consumerism, Free Will, & Billionaires

In this episode, Josh and Ian continue their discussion on contemporary economics, human nature and consumerism, and the morality of billionaires. They begin by giving a basic breakdown of what is understood as the modern science of economics and its origins; supply-and-demand vs. cost-benefit analysis; free will and choice under psychologically influencing markets.

After the break, they move into the pitfalls of modern consumerism, human comfortability, Nietzsche's last man and the prevalence of herd mentality in society; how peoples lives in a capitalist society have been centered around production and meaning in work; how universal basic income can help redefine work or inspire us to be more creative, and how UBI changes how everyone is given a monetary value and its repercussions on the market; how billionaires choose to spend their money and the potential risks that they can take in shaping the future of humanity; and how limited resources and billionaires lead to poverty.
